If this does'nt get you upset nothing will. You think the Iraq war is expensive, wait til this tab needs paying. All this for what, why to take care of Mexicans of course. Why don't Mexico take care of it's own, well you know the answer.Priority, priority over Americans, how stupid is that.

Well,I have called everyone of these senators, other than that there's not much you can do.Is'nt it funny how illegal aliens have reached saint status here. They can do NO wrong.

I wonder why our government feels that they are entitle to take care of illegal immigrants when our nation is right now in the most deplorable situation right now.

This a very good evidence of what is going on with the middle class in this nation . . . the goal is to wipe it out completely.

I did what legaly I can do . . . tell my state senator what I feel.

But I will be doing more I will be letting all senators my disappointment.

i hope your last comment was not directed at me because I clearly have a problem with illegals but i realize that the government wants them to be to increase their tax base (gas, sales, ect.) as well as keep their military age younger than most the other countries in the world because hispanics have the highest birthrates in the world. i also realize the corrupt shadow government has had a stranglehold on the Washington since JFK's assassination. now it seems like their political machine can not be stopped. this is because most of the politicians fail to follow the people's view like they were intended to do.

you know, i have a bit of a problem with how these PEOPLE got into this country, but they are still PEOPLE. that comes first and foremost. not how they got in, but who they are. have these PEOPLE hurt anyone by coming here? if not, then let them have amnesty. if the PEOPLE have hurt people through violent crime, theft, burglary, etc deport them to be tried for crimes in their country of origin.

the problem with our immigration laws is that they punish people for an act that doesn't inherently hurt anybody or their property.

Perhaps the many illegal immigrants would make the ideal auxilliary army...much in the same way that the Roman army operated, serve your 25 years in the legions and you gain the right to citizenship.

Would solve the problem of troop shortages in this perpetual W.o.T

You can also tax legal immigrants. That seems to be the biggest incentive in granting amnesty to these illegals. Lets face it, they're going to be in the US any way so why not make them pay taxes while they're at it.

Kennedy could'nt resist putting in a little gun control for good measure. A "backdoor" gift from Sen. Benedict Amnesty. He's really bending over backward on this.

Just got a email a few minutes ago-

The Senate just failed to "invoke cloture" on the Bush-Kennedy
amnesty bill for the second time today. The final vote was 45-50.

I believe the US citizens won round one. But keep up the pressure on your congressmen for them not to let this amnesty bill pass.

Now I'm happy as a clam.

wooooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooo!!!

Sorry couldn't resist.

I am very glad it was revoked, I did my part and complain to my elected officials about he bill, the way it was drafted is not a very good idea for either Americans and immigrants.

Still corporate America are lobbying day in and day out for their version of the bill and perhaps it was not so much as an American citizens win but rather corporate America did not like the bill either the way its drafted.

you know, not all laws are worthy of being enforced. especially those laws that have their roots in racism and xenophobia (as in, our entire immigration policy). just look at how we hand out legal visas and you'll see it's either racist or arbitrary, depending on the country.

example of one of the arbitrary allowments of visas:

lithuania: population 1 million+ gets 2 visas
malta: population of approx 400,000 gets... 2 visas

how the hell do they determine these things?

sometimes it's just racist. central and south americans have a much harder time making it into this country than western and northern europeans do. are you a native african? oh, it'll be easy for you... as long as you're a white south african.

You are,of course, mistaken. In 1965 Senator Edward Kennedy proposed an immigration bill. "Our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually," prophesied Senator Edward Kennedy: "Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same." Of course he was wrong. Then,as now the people did not want.it. The new system, too, "discriminated," as Senator Ervin had predicted, but now "against" citizens of western Europe and the British Isles, including Ireland, "in favor of" Latin Americans and Asians, because it gave special influence to kinship -- or, nepotism. The new bill gave preference latin people and took away from Europeans. So I don't see where you say Europeans are favoried. It would appear the exact opposite.

not surprising, considering that was 42 years ago...

Then,as now the people did not want.it.

again, what's the problem with immigration?

The new system, too, "discriminated," as Senator Ervin had predicted, but now "against" citizens of western Europe and the British Isles, including Ireland, "in favor of" Latin Americans and Asians, because it gave special influence to kinship -- or, nepotism.

yet it's still easier for a family from britain to get there than it is for a family from chile.....
and the influence of kinship extends to ALL immigrants from ALL regions under current immigration law. how do i know this? well, it's how i got into this country from MALTA. yeah, that discriminates against all those western europeans... like me

The new bill gave preference latin people and took away from Europeans. So I don't see where you say Europeans are favoried. It would appear the exact opposite.

it gave MORE preference to latin americans but it didn't give them preference over europeans. it just balanced things out a bit more.

it would only appear to be the exact opposite if you looked at it superficially.

Fine, time for you to show where your info comes from. I,ve looked and can't seem to find any. "MORE preference to latin americans but it didn't give them preference over europeans" Don't see it.

ah, more latin americans get in, therefore it's easier for them to get it... bad logic right there.

again, just because they do get in doesn't mean they have it easy.

...and that's from homeland security... shouldn't the INS be handling these statistics?

That's what I thought, you have nothing. Bad logic, how about no logic your not making sense.First you claim racist laws, then Europeans get preference, then it's "just because they get in doesn't mean they have it easy." And now the stats are false?? Ok.

Oh guess what?

Bush brings Amnesty bill back: Snow: "2 days needed"
Source-
Action Item #1-- Call Your Senators and the White House
and tell them to "Back Off"!

White House Switchboard: 202-456-1414
White House Comment Line: 202-456-1111

Bush and the Amnesty Senators are now preparing to bring
the Bush-Kennedy Amnesty bill back for a vote immediately.

Yesterday, Commerce Secretary Gutierrez said the administration
is "more determined than ever" to pass amnesty and Tony Snow
added that the Senate "could wrap this up in two days." Now,
Bush has scheduled a meeting with Senate Republicans on
Tuesday to plan strategy and Majority Leader Reid is saying
he is ready to move the bill to a vote.

I am outraged and you should be as well.

Just last week, the American people soundly rejected Bush-Kennedy
Amnesty. The New York Times even featured Grassfire.org and
three of our team members in a Page One lead story yesterday
entitled "Grass Roots Roared". Now, they are bringing amnesty back!
--------------------------------------------------

I just tried calling the White House no such luck on getting through.
No matter what we say Bush just ignores us even on the No confidence vote on Gonzo what ever his name is.

I think his quote was "They can keep their votes. And it is up to him if he stays or goes."

I'm so mad and torn up now I can't even type.

If this bill passes we can kiss the US goodbye.

Exactly M6043! The corporate Americas even wanted a more lenient bill regarding amnesty.

It's obvious to me that this country is no longer a democratic republic but a corporate oligarchy, ruled by the lobbyist, lawyers, and the rich elite stockholders in the megacorps.

I hope all the conservative Bush supporters are happy now that their golden boy has chumped them out.

It's a brave new world; welcome to the monkey house!!
