As promised earlier, here are six images for your consideration. I reworked my earlier model and will make it available if desired. The images are rendered in Mental Ray using an HDRI background. Texture is painted and aged. I have much "crisper" images available in png and tif format. Due to size, I will make them available as a download if requested.

For the record: While I think that the original images are cg, I cannot nor do I wish to "prove" anything. I did this purely for my own reasons. This project was intended for my own personal use as a study, nothing more.

Please take the following into consideration when examining them:

1: I have left out certain details in my model on purpose.
2: I chose a unique texture scheme for the same reasons.
3: The images are jpegs and been retouched in Photoshop (balance, color and levels - auto).

Please judge them on the criteria you imposed upon the originals, ignoring the fact that you know these images to be cg. Does it look real, are the lighting and shadows correct for the location, etc.

Oh yeah, that looks just like the Chad/Raj photos....... NOT

Actually, maybe you could hook up with Billy Meires with these and make a new religion.

I thought I made it clear that I was not intending to replicate the original photographs and requested forum members judge the renders based on the criteria that each member used in regards to the former.

Your comments, aside from the fact that you offer no useful criticisms, are rude and uncalled for.

You make it clear that I'm wasting my time. Having my work belittled by the likes of you is just icing on the cake.

rwiggins, the difference between yours and "Chad's" is that the material that "Chad's" ship is made out of is more ambiguous than yours. Yours appears to be aluminum or iron. I think that the spires are more realistic on yours than on Chad's. Overall, you've done a good job, but the rendering is distracting. I can see, though, that if you had a better render your craft would look more real than it already does. Another difference is your's appears to be heavy whereas "Chad's" seems lighter in weight. The reflective surface around the core of the craft is pretty good. Good work so far.

Ok, What I mean to say is that your pics are nowhere near the quality of the original photos from Chad or Raj. Your pics look so cgi fake, it's obvious. This is what you asked for. So what if I put a little bit of humor to it.

i just took a look here

img134.imageshack.us...

and its hard to decipher. but it looks like the part closes to the body of the drone on the original C2C looks like it says "FUNNY" or "FU-N-I(hirigana "I")" then something else i could'nt read.

I live in a town where they say these things have been seen.

I personally have never seen anything like these drones, or heard any one say they have seen one locally.

If by some chance the power company has these things monitoring lines in rural areas, I'll knock it down and see how it works.

In a real world note, if those photos were real the authorities would get involved because it's an unidentified hovering craft with strange writing on it that has an attraction to power lines...

For the benefit of folks following this one of the c2c threads but not the others, yesterday a new drone has surfaced:

The link to this new drone is here. How about some of our CGI experts weighing in on this?

The new "drone" looks highly reflective. The drone is in the middle of the forest and you can notice a slight hue of green on the wings and center of the drone. That isn't a normal property of steel, steel isn't that reflective unless you insanely polish it.

It looks like someone tried to join the three versions of the "probe"...

From what we can see, this could be real, the object is so far away that we cannot see if it has some common CGI characteristics.

No photo analysis yet? This is a strange set of pictures. I wonder what would happen if this photographer brings a bunch of friends out and they have a mass sighting.
