One World Government Good or Bad

A one world Gov would only work under a theocracy, where everyone has spiritual enlightenment, the ego does not exist, and everyone experiences that we are all One.

However, because human beings are in a fallen spiritual state; ego's, power, corruption, and control will be the premises with which everything will operate.

Those at the top are always corrupt and when a revolutionary group wants to change this, when they do so successfully, they themselves also become corrupt and nothing changes. Look at history especially revolutions.

So, until we are all God realized/Unified ........a one world Gov is doomed to fail.....sorry to say

Any one world government would likely be a coalition of individual nations pursuing a common goal. And though national boundaries may disintegrate in the future, and they inevitably will, there will always be power struggles between individuals and parties of individuals. The best science fiction novel never excludes human nature, remember that.

Edit: Please excuse my tendency to fall toward realism. I'm sure that a discussion concerning the "reality" of one world government would be beneficial to all of us.

I'll start with an initial thought, and follow up in-depth when I have the time.

The power struggle between individuals and parties of individuals would be so great that if any world government were to come to exist, it would be highly efficient. There would have to be some global crisis, or series of crises in order to convince the people that what they need is a global address to a global situation. The invasion of the planet by a sentient intelligence is the most obvious concern for global panic. After such an event, if all turns out good for humanity, the major players involved in the enemy's defeat might realize that they now hold a lot of power over the people of the planet. They can weave fear and a sense of insecurity within the general population, making them believe that only a single globe spanning government is capable of protecting them from future threats, and that the only way to progress as a star faring civilization, and to capture our own sphere of influence in space is to form a unified vision for the future, in the form of global unified governance. Of course, there would be dissent across national frontiers, as many world powers not directly involved in combating such an alien force would feel they have the right to represent their planet in a seat of governmental power, as the threat concerns the entire planet.

A one world government will only lead to equality between nations, you are what you are, if your governments, traditions, the ways of your country and it's laws it will deface what really makes your country what it is. Maybe some people don't want to have westernised laws, that’s why it is bad, it will turn a colour photo to black and white, so to speak.

ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT MEANS YOU WILL BE LOCKED UP ABROAD THINK ABOUT THAT!.....LOST OF OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS...IT WILL BE ERADICATED THEY WILL CREATE A NEW CONSTITUTION DESTROYING OUR REAL RIGHTS....UNITY IS FREEDOM BUT WE ARE NOT ON THE SAME PAGE...RACE WAR IS COMING AND IM SAD BECAUSE IT DOESNT HAVE TO HAPPEN...

Well imgaine your daily life for a second because this is what it will be like (example)

Lets say you live in france, your job will be in Poland. Your wife will work in Spain. That is if you have a job. This is very much the case in europe right now with some as well.

Every single thing that you do be it eat, buy, sell, watch, travel or believe will be documented on one id card or chip along with much more data. CCTV will monitor all your movements which is already almost the case.

Do you think elections would be something that would be feasible when they cannot even count a countries votes properly? So no democratic vote, no say, that is a dictatorship.

Things such as necessary evils, insurance for example will be based on all the new information that they know, for example. your life insurance company will know that you got drunk on saturday if you have an accident on the sunday morning. Your operation costs will reflect this.

Political correctness will be everywhere and religion will eventually be phased out of schools which is beginning right now. Resulting in a future generation of government worship.

Look, do I really need to go on here.

Whether it is a big shiny clean global unification or a dark dismal 1984 type future.

It is the same thing.

Look at it this way, the financial crisis was caused by borrowing money that did not exist. Solution, create more money to borrow that does not exist!!??

Governments created this world we see today through the power that citizens gave them. Solution, give them more power to fix it!!??

Do you see how stupid supporting globalisation really is!!!???

Maybe its banging our heads against a wall then when things like this start being mentioned in a positive light. Seems people are giving in.

Global Peaceful Unification is the inevitable choice for mankind to the future!

Well other than it can't work. I find the question a little mis leading. they want you to forget all the past wars and massacres. Humans are always on guard against invaders and a global system that appears to want everyone dead is bound to fail. the question is how many people will die in the process.
