CAMDEN, N.J. (Jan. 4) - A convicted bank robber who told a prison psychologist he wanted to "spice up'' his life by shooting a famous person has admitted threatening to kill U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, officials said.

[...]

In 1977, Falvey was arrested and charged with threatening to kill then-President Carter. Falvey was convicted and received probation.

See the Whole Story

Edward Falvey, 51, who plead guilty last week to a charge of threatening to kill the former First Lady has made some pretty shocking statements regarding his intentions and the surrounding investigation.

In letters, Falvey confessed to his prison psychologist that he wanted to "shoot a very famous person. ... My life is dull and boring. I need to spice it up.''

Regarding his subsequent visit from the Secret Service he wrote "This is all starting to get exciting. ... I feel like a movie star.''

One can't help but see some of the same delusional and transference thinking of John Hinckley in Falvey. Hinckley, also a very unfulfilled man had aspirations of "Star" fame at one point, moving to Hollywood to pursue a song writing career. Eventually, of course Hinckley set his sights on a real Star, following Jodie Foster to Yale.

The Presidential stalking by Hinckley, like Falvey, began with President Carter. Hinckley had followed Carter to at least two campaign stops, actually being arrested in Nashville when airport security detected handguns in his suitcases. Like Falvey, he was slapped on the hand and let go for this first offense.

Then, again like Falvey, as frustrations and delusions continued, he turned his attentions to another politician eventually shooting then President Reagen.

It appears then there's a uniquely non-political component to some life long aspiring assassigns, with the common thread being nothing more than a quest for fame.

someone wants to kill hillary? heavans NO! whatever for???

on one hand it'd be a terrible thing, the death of a lviing thing on the other...not sure it'd be all that bad.

gotta say its a bad thing. keep the guy under tight wraps.

that component being they're crazy. literally. obviously the guy doesnt know right from wrong or has a very distorted idea of what right and wrong is to him and thinks this is somehow a good thing. a visit from the secret service made him feel like a movie star? if that doesnt make at least some of you think he needs help and should stay behind bars then nothing will.

I agree! But also see the overwhelming desire to be famous at any cost as CRAZY!

I think we're increasingly obsessed with being millionaires, rappers, idols and movie stars... and it's delusional thinking on the part of society as a whole.

Seeking infamy is just a quick fix. Shoot a President, take down the World Trade Center, DC sniper killing spree... It's massive ego's run amok.

some people are like this. i dont care about being famous or rich. i dont bother with most of ths tuff society thinks i should be obsessed with. i find odd that other people DO want to be famous and rich and popular. but maybe people think i'm odd for not wanting to be rich and famous.

for people like him who arent exactly in touch with reality...they're choices to be famous usually involve commiting a crime, one that sometimes involves capitol punishment. he doesnt realize thats its the short and wrong way to becoming famous, i dont think its a matter of him not caring i dont think whe genuinely understands that such actions are wrong. in his mind in his world this is a good and proper way to being famous. he probably has delusions of grandeur, i'm 90% sure on this.

some people change jobs or find a new hobby to add some spive to their lives, he wants to kill people. its a mad mad mad mad world!
