GOP Candidates Bask in Own Glory Following Feisty Debate

www.foxnews.com

One of the highlights of the debate came when Paul said the United States has been bombing Iraq for 10 years and doesn't understand how the Middle East operates.

"Right now, we're building an embassy in Iraq that is bigger than the Vatican. We're building 14 permanent bases. What would we say here if China was doing this in our country or in the Gulf of Mexico? We would be objecting," Paul said in explaining his opposition to going to war in Iraq.

I think his statement, while correct in a holistic factual sense, is an oversimplification of the issue.

That being said, what do people think will become of Rep. Paul politically in this race? He had a strong showing in the first debate; will that continue? I think he has shot himself in the foot here, as most Republicans are naturally offended by statements like that. It's not surprising therefore that Giuliani won many polls for calling Paul out.

Most of his critics have mistated his position as "hating America", I believe we all have the right to be critical of American Foreign Policy. We are not on the right side every time. I for one love my country but hate my leaders for having such draconian policies, foreign and domestic. It the CONSTITUTION, Stupid.

I refuse to watch debates where there is not a qualified candidate.

That will soon change when Fred Thompson and Newt Gingrich enter the race! Until then zzzzzzzzzz.

Ron Paul? Where did this idiot come from? Why is he allowed to spew his misguided libertarian mush in a Republican debate? The move to ban him from further debates is right on target.

If you are not familiar with Ron Paul and his views, I recommend you read up on his articles.

You can find quite a number of articles of his here:
www.lewrockwell.com...

Is he misguided? Not at all, and has been a consistent advocate for the Constitution, limited government, and sound monetary policy for longer than many have been alive.

However, many are fans of Socialism (large swaths of "conservatives" are these days), and they probably won't like him.

The Republican party.

Why is he allowed to spew his misguided libertarian mush in a Republican debate?

Because there was once a time, not too long ago, that Republicans were conservatives. He remembers it.

The move to ban him from further debates is right on target.

For Neo-Cons. The last bastion of hyper-liberalism in America.

The only thing the GOP is basking in is their own feces. They've sold the US out like $2 whores to foreign interests, meanwhile amassing record debts that served but only a few and the cost of the many.

Smells like eau de Soviet Russia coming from the rear of the Republican elephant.

RRConservative, since I put you on my ignore list you didn't change, you're still as clueless as you were... You can't be real, you must be an operative... or god help humanity!

FoxNews... yeah propaganda 101. It's more FoxNews not understanding how the middle-east works... The republican party is a sick joke, the only candidate who makes sense in BOTH parties is Ron Paul. Guiliani is a joke, Hitlary is a joke, Gingrich is a piece of trash who want to ban free speech... Enough said.

Jesus Christ, RR. What are you trying to do, spam? I told you to explain yourself, and you never do. Quit being an idiot; think before you type.

Words mean things. You don't understand? Sorry can't help you.

OK...Let me type a little slower so you can understand.

There is no Republican in the field right now that I like.

Ron Paul is using the Republican Party to spew his Libertarian agenda. For this point alone, he should be banned from the Republican Party and banned from further debates. David Duke used the Republican Party to further his own agenda and was prompty banned from the party. So there is precidence for this to happen.

Sorry to burst your bubble Johnmike, but your Ron Paul fantasy is not going to happen. WAKE UP!

Same thing, different thread, little merit, little support or explanation.

We've all heard you. You liken Ron Paul to David Duke, which hasn't been supported by anything but your word on the matter.

It gets tiring to read the same lame thing over and over.

I'd also like to say that there are a great many Social Conservatives that have little respect or give little credence the conservative fiscal principles (the ones republicans are supposed to believe in anyway).

Ron Paul is a Fiscal Conservative that is not always inline with current "mainstream conservative" social principles (as spoken by those running now at least). This by no means makes him worthy of being banned, any more than the social conservatives that are closet Socialists fiscally.

And McCain is using the party to spew his imperialistic agenda. Ron Paul's ideas are very Republican. When I ask you to explain how Ron Paul should be banned, you go on and repeat the same thing over and over again like a propaganda machine. Ron Paul isn't my fantasy or dream, I just believe in his political ideas. I've even said that I didn't want to do as much as disagree with you until you explained why you felt this way about Dr. Paul, but again, you just repeat yourself over and over.

It's not as much that it's Ron Paul, though the topic certainly got my interest, as much as the fact that you say things repeatedly in many threads while refusing to explain yourself. The point is to have a discussion; at this point, what you're doing is analogous to someone who runs into a meeting and screams "LOL THAT IDEA IS DUMB" over and over again.

This is my final word on this. (maybe)

Ron Paul ran as a Libertarian in the past.

He is using the Republican party to advance his Libertarian agenda.

The more I think about it, the more I think the Republicans should just leave him alone. The guy is a minor nuisance, driven by Alex Jones and Prison planet. Ron Paul's fantasy team is just spamming polls to make it look like this guy is popular. But when it comes down to it he doesn't have a snowballs chance...! Maybe Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich can team up and form the Illrelevant Internet Hype Party?

The Ron Paul Fantasy Tour is almost over!

So the reason you think he should be banned is:

1) That he ran as a Libertarian in the past.

You're a floating propaganda machine, RRconservative, whether you realize it or not. I seriously suspect that you're intentionally trying to spread it, as if you're either working for someone or just innocently trying to aid one of your choice candidates. And that's not even considering how your posts constantly bleed political rhetoric while refusing to give any solid reasoning.

Johnmike

You must have a job in the media. The way you "edited" my post to suit your agenda is weak.

Here is the rest of my post you convieniently left out.

It is just lazy to read one line of a post and respond to that one line.

Actually, Ron Paul is more "republican" than any of the socialists running against him. Last I checked there was no "neo-con" party. Paul is a true Republican, as are about half of the Libertarians out there. It is you and your ilk who have hijacked the party.

Remember, pointing and screaming "here come the terrorists, run for your lives!" is not part of the Republican platform and is something only some of those calling themselves Republican do.
