Hi, Remirah. I saw that item too. Actually, there have been a few earlier 'sightings' of dark matter; see the following BBC news items (this news
was also widely reported elsewhere):
Do these 'sightings' confirm that dark matter exists? Can regard the reality of dark matter as proved? I'm not so sure. These are faint, distant
images we're looking at; the tarted-up pictures we see on news and science web sites look nothing like the original images or data. It could well be
we're seeing something else, and that dark matter does not exist. There may be another explanation entirely for the surprising dynamic behaviour of
galaxies.
