120 ft is not deep enough for those strange deep water fish.

what has the missing link got to do with frogfish?

Nothing at all. It was a evolution joke relating the "frogfish" to a poodle. I find the creature in the video to somewhat resemble a poodle. Obviously no one else does though. Forgive my humor. I'll try to keep the conversation on frogfish and their importance in this thread.

Nice find that's one cute looking critter. We should all search for cloaked eels too!

It is a kind of monkfish that lives at great depth. Because of the water pressure the fish does not have any swim bladder and instead "walk" around the ocean bottom. At these depth there is only a fraction of the nutrients from the surface so the fish have to preserve their energy.

Another problem at these depth are to find a partner when the distances are so great. This is solved by some anglerfish by the male actually living their whole lives as parasites on the female. Their arteries actually join together so all the male has to do is to catch a ride and produce sperm. The female does all the eating and swimming.
