We all love movies. I don't think there is anybody in the world who watches movies but does not have a movie which he likes to watch again and again. Whereas, why you like a movie is something very personal to your taste, there are some criteria decided by the jury in selecting the best of the best. Those criteria may be technical in nature as in,screenplay, cinematography, action, etc. But I think most of us like movies for very simple reasons.

I love The godfather because it has none other than Marlon Brando.

Which are your such favourites and why do you like some movies?

Godfather 1 & 2 are both excellent.
I grow bored of things quite easily, and don't really like watching things more than once. However the one movie that I LOVE, and can watch repeatedly is JAWS.
It captures so many things. When there are beach scenes, it really does capture it very well. Lots of background conversations, a couple different radio stations in the background. I like the fact that at different times throughout the movie there are more than one conversation going on and you can "tune in" to either one of them. Quint is a great character, and Shaw plays him brilliantly. In my book JAWS is at the top of the list.

My all time fav movie would be Terminater. Not the sequels, just the first movie. It's not because I'm a big Arnold fan either. The plot of the movie just struck a chord with me, and I have not seen a movie that compares IMHO.

One movie that I love is Pulp Fiction. What did I like about it? Everything! I especially like the funny parts in the movie. I don't laugh easily but there some parts in the movie that really had me laughing. I just really like this movie.

It's hard to pick just one all-time favorite. I carry around in my head a list of favorite movies, and they tend to shift around a bit in order of preference.

Certainly I would have to say, in no particular order:

2001: A Space Odyssey, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Pulp Fiction, The Searchers, Casablanca, The Mummy (the original 1935 version), Dogma, Star Wars (the 1977 film), and The Matrix.

But, for right now, at the top of the list is the great, the immortal, Howard Hawks' Rio Bravo. Can't wait for the two-disc DVD to come out -- it's got a commentary track by John Carpenter. Woo hoo!

For me.. flip a coin.

The Godfather/The Godfather Part II

Brando was amazing in the first one... Deniro was amazing in the second one.

James Caan was amazing in the first one, as was Duvall in both. It's amazing that, as good as Pacino was in these films, it is not the role that defines him. Scarface defines him, and will forever. The Godfather's, Carlito's Way, etc., are all amazing films that should of defined any actor alive, but not Pacino.

There are hundreds of movies I could say that I absolutely love, but these two are by far the greatest movies ever made.

I love Silence of the Lambs...I have watched the movie about 10 times and I even read the original novel...Thomas Harris is brillian in his storytelling and the research and Anthony Hopkins brings the character to life. I think if we talk about a novel being made into a movie...Anthony has done perfect justice to the character...

i seriously SERIOUSLY hope you are joking. Ghost Ship and Godfather should never belong anywhere even close to eachother. Ghost Ship made me laugh it was so horrible... you have to be being sarcastic, or there is no hope for mankind.

I personally love anything by kubrick or tarrentino, i really dont have 1 favorite of all time though.
