that's not even half the story, it gets metabolized into formaldehyde and methanol, both of which are neurotoxins, formaldehyde even being an accumulative poison.

You might wanna dig a little further into this and check out opposing viewpoints as well. Start out with the multitude of links on this page:

Snopes.com

Aspartame, a dipeptide composed of phenylalanine and aspartic acid linked by a methyl ester bond, is not absorbed, and is completely hydrolysed in the intestine to yield the two constituent amino acids and free methanol. Opponents of aspartame suggest that the phenylalanine and methanol so released are dangerous. In particular, they assert that methanol can be converted to formaldehyde and then to formic acid, and thus cause metabolic acidosis and neurotoxicity.

Although a 330 ml can of aspartame-sweetened soft drink will yield about 20 mg methanol, an equivalent volume of fruit juice produces 40 mg methanol, and an alcoholic beverage about 60-100 mg. The yield of phenylalanine is about 100 mg for a can of diet soft drink, compared with 300 mg for an egg, 500 mg for a glass of milk, and 900 mg for a large hamburger (1). Thus, the amount of phenylalanine or methanol ingested from consumption of aspartame is trivial, compared with other dietary sources. Clinical studies have shown no evidence of toxic effects and no increase in plasma concentrations of methanol, formic acid, or phenylalanine with daily consumption of 50 mg/kg aspartame (equivalent to 17 cans of diet soft drink daily for a 70 kg adult) (1, 2).

Kind of seems like a stupid theory when you realize that methanol, which these sites claim are the source of an unhealthy amount of formaldehyde, is present in larger quantities in fruit juice and alcholic beverages.

Aspartame is just one of so many poisons that are intentionally put into the food supply in order to make people sick. One reason this is done is to decrease the population. The other reason is to keep the sick people on prescription drugs until they die because it's a huge revenue-generator for the government.

For awhile now, I have been trying to bring this to people's attention by forwarding them on to Mike Adams' website, NewsTarget (www.newstarget.com).

Here is an article about aspartame from the Newstarget website:
The link between aspartame and brain tumors: What the FDA never told you about artificial sweeteners

Here is the evidence that shows how we have been poisoned slowly over the last 100 years (this plan has been in effect for a long time):
The Hundred Year Lie

Here is a database that shows the toxins that are in thousands of cosmetic and personal care products:
Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Database

You can actually lookup the exact products you use and see how dangerous or safe they really are. You will be shocked at what you find there.

But the more I think about it, I'm starting to understand that there really are too many lazy and uncaring people in our society who are not contributing anything to it (and in some cases - making it worse), so maybe they really do need to go away.

I've made the personal choice to change my diet and stop using the products that contain the chemicals that are dangerous to me. I will continue to help educate others on the dangers of the toxins that are in our water, our food supply and the personal products that we use, but I'm not going to go overboard and stress myself out over it anymore. I'm not going to try to convince those who don't want to be convinced.

For those who really care about this planet, our country, our health freedom and our rights... I say do something about it and make a difference. For those who either don't care or choose not to believe what is really going on... let them continue consuming the poisons which will give them a head start to their own deaths. The population will be reduced, which is what the government wants. You can choose to be a victim but I will not.

I just don't get your theory here. Why would the government want the population reduced? The more people, the more taxes. The more people, the more product consumed and the more $$ the corporations make. No people = no profit.

No offense, but your theory just seems completely contrary to common sense.

Also, one of your links is a blatant lie. Any of these sites you see touting formaldehyde poisoning are lying...and they know it. As I posted above, it's a fact that you get much more formaldehyde in your body from drinking a glass of OJ than from drinking a can of diet coke. Our bodies are capable of dealing with these small amounts or the human race would have went extinct long ago from eating fruit.

It is a simple fact that for planet Earth to attain a state of balance, the current population of human beings will need to be radically reduced. The alternative to that scenario is that human beings would find ways to live in harmony with the planet, but given the foolishishness and short-term thinking tendancy of the human species, this is highly unlikely.

The Illuminati's idea of Population Control falls into two broad categories:
1. Limiting the size of human societies and monitoring/controlling the movement of individuals within that society, and
2. Intentionally reducing the bulk of the world's population through GENOCIDE via the introduction of population slaughter, orchestrated conflicts, and lethal bioengineered disease organisms introduced via vaccines and other means of external transmission.

The Illuminati's current plan to reduce the world's population was set into motion at a 1957 symposium on future world development. The astonishing 'conclusion' of this seemingly benign symposium was that over-population and excessive exploitation of the environment would result in the self- destruction of the earth by the year 2,000 or shortly thereafter (Note:Illuminti front organizations for New World Order propaganda, like Cornell University, continue to "illuminate" us, to this very day, with this over-population point of view).

It appears that the PR firms for the chemical company "selling"
aspartame (i.e., slowing poisoning people), Monsanto Chemical Company
are desparate to rescue their junky product despite the growing
evidence of its dangers. On the Internet, there are many nonsensical
and scientifically indefensible posts by persons who are only
interested in confusing the issue and creating havoc.

For example, one person recently claimed that orange juice releases
400 times more methanol than aspartame upon ingestion. The
scientific facts are that aspartame has much more methanol than
orange juice. (Many store-bought orange juices have 10-30 times less
methanol.) In addition, the methanol from aspartame is converted to
the extremely toxic formaldehyde and formic acid in the body, while
protective factors in the orange juice may prevent this conversion to
formaldehyde and formic acid. An avid aspartame consumer will be
getting the equivalent amount of methanol as a person working
part-time and inhaling methanol fumes in a methanol-laden chemical
plant. Other aspartame breakdown products may potentiate the
methanol/formaldehyde toxicity.

Pretty ineresting thought about Aspartame.. Funny thing too is that most bottled water contains Floride, Which does almost the same thing as aspartame aswell as causes brain cancer

I will stop using ahhh....what.... oh ya, sweetener
Thanks for the insight!!
Peace to you and yours

i'm not say that you are wrong, i'm just saying that there are significant differences, namely that aspartame is converted into methanol by the body, which means it gets into places where unbound methanol would at least be diluted to a certain extent and methanol alone is more damaging than an ethanol/methanol mix:

Source

It has been pointed out that fruit juices and alcoholic beverages contain small amounts of methanol. It is important to remember, that the methanol in natural products never appears alone. In every case, ethanol is present, usually in much higher amounts. Ethanol is an antidote for methanol toxicity in humans. The troops of Desert Storm were "treated" to large amounts of aspartame-sweetened beverages which had been heated to over 86 degrees F. in the Saudi Arabian sun. Many of them returned home with numerous disorders similar to what has been seen in persons who have been chemically poisoned by formaldehyde. The free methanol in the beverages may have been a contributing factor in these illnesses. Other breakdown products of aspartame such as DKP, may also have been a factor.

besides, i'm certain a 'standard' fruit juice does not exist and that variations are probably common, while comparing _any_ soft drink to liquor is simply self-defeating, isn't it?

Really? And what proof do you have of this? Sorry but quit spouting crap out when you really have no idea what you talk about. YES Aspartame can be bad, YET many food sweeteners can cause sickness.... But to decrease population with no proof? AAARRRGGGGHHHHH.

Now you're getting into secret societies because you cannot find another way to help back up your Agenda?

Maybe I do know what I'm talking about and you simply choose not to believe it.

Go read the Slippery Slope Index and then tell me that we are not intentionally being poisoned. It's been happening for the last 100 years. They know they are poisoning the population and they are not stopping it.

New Mexico Begins Legislative Process To Ban Aspartame

Fifteen state senators sponsored a bill to rid New Mexico of what some have called "Rumsfeld's Disease."

20 Jan 2006

By Greg Szymanski

A senate bill to rid New Mexico of what has been called "Rumsfeld's Disease" was introduced Thursday by Sen. Gerald Ortiz y Pino, D-Albuquerque, as 15 other senators from both sides of isle also signed on, supporting legislation to ban the deadly artificial sweetener, aspartame.

Linked to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld for his efforts in the 1970s for putting the sweetener on the market, New Mexico is the first state to consider banning the artificial additive linked to numerous ill-health affects, including cancer.

If passed, no food containing any amount of the sweetener could be manufactured, sold or delivered in Mew Mexico , beginning July 1.

After the bill was introduced Thursday morning, Sen. Ortiz y Pino, appearing on Greg Szymanski's radio show, The Investigative Journal, said he needs support from six more senators for passage if the anti-aspartame legislation makes its way for a vote during the short 30-day legislative session.

The Albuquerque democrat also said the bill needs to be put on the "governor's call list" in order for it to be heard, remaining optimistic since Gov. Bill Richardson has expressed strong concern about the health hazards of aspartame in the past.

"I decided to introduce this bill, despite strong opposition by lobbyists because it is the right thing to do and many of my constituents feel the artificial sweetener is dangerous," said Sen. Ortiz y Pino while appearing on The Investigative Journal.

"I am very optimistic that the banning of aspartame will be passed into law since 15 senators signed on with me to support the bill. I know of one other who has said he join us, leaving only six more votes to get it passed in the senate if it comes to a vote this session."

Besides the senate bill, New Mexico 's House of Representatives has also introduced a similar bill, House Bill 202, calling for the same ban on aspartame.

The House version of the bill was introduced by Gallup democrat, Irvin Harrison, who claims the measure, if passed, "means a vital national and international precedent would be set, one which could precipitate a new era of consumer protection in the United States and other nations."

New Mexico resident and Santa Fe art gallery owner Stephen Fox has been one of the main activists pushing to raise public awareness and outlaw the use of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved additive.

Fox and many others trying to ban aspartame have for years been trying to warn unsuspecting users of the dangers, saying aspartame contains "poisonous and deadly toxins."

Before legislation was introduced, Fox tried to get aspartame banned through the state's Environmental Improvement Board (EIB), but after pressure from aspartame lobbyists, postponed any action on Fox's request until July.

The New Mexico Legislature established the EIB in 1978 to handle rules on the state's food and water supply, liquid waste, air quality and radiation control. However, any action by the legislature to ban aspartame would supersede an EIB ruling.

Although the EIB said in October that it had the necessary power to handle Fox's petition, on Nov. 9, the board backtracked, asking in writing for Attorney General Patricia Madrid's opinion on whether state law gives it the authority to regulate aspartame and whether the board could carry out Fox's request to outlaw or put warning labels on products that contain the sweetener. The board has not received an answer from Madrid .

Regarding the adverse health affects from aspartame, a recent report from a highly respected international medical team has now linked the toxins in aspartame to lymphomas and leukemias.

The report by Morando Soffritti "Aspartame induces lymphomas and leukemias in rats" is in the European Journal of Oncology for July, 2005. Dr. Sofritti is a member of the European Ramazzini Foundation of Oncology and Environmental Sciences Cancer Research Centre in Bologna , Italy .

As reported, Dr. Soffritti and his team carefully set the conditions whereby genetically-uniform test rats were treated equally with the exception of being divided into groups given varying levels of the toxic chemical sweetener.

According to health experts, rats are deemed appropriate subjects for testing aspartame on humans because both humans and rats metabolize the methyl ester in aspartame into methyl alcohol, then formaldehyde then formic acid - all deadly poisons.

Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, MD, one of the world's leading authorities on aspartame neuro toxicity, extensively reviewed the Soffritti report.

"This study confirmed the previous study by Dr. Trocho and co-workers (1998), which also found the formaldehyde breakdown product of aspartame to be damaging to cellular DNA and that this damage was cumulative," said Dr. Blaylock. "The type of damage was a duplicate of that associated with cancers. These two studies strongly indicate that drinking a single diet cola sweetened with aspartame every day could significantly increase one's risk of developing a lymphoma or leukemia.

"This study should terrify mothers and all those consuming aspartame sweetened products. This was a carefully done study which clearly demonstrated a statistically significant increase in several types of lymphomas and leukemias in rats. Both of these malignancies have increased significantly in this country since the widespread use of aspartame.

"They also found an increased incidence of malignant brain tumors, even though it was not statistically significant. This does not mean there is no association to brain tumors, since ONLY the animals exposed to aspartame developed the tumors. With children and pregnant women drinking the largest amount of diet colas, this puts their children at the greatest risk of developing one of these horrible diseases. Their found that even lower doses of aspartame could cause these malignancies, yet, the higher the dose, the more cancers that were seen.

"Since aspartame can increase obesity and may even cause the metabolic syndrome that affects 48 million Americans, there is no reason to ever consume this product. At the least, it should be immediately banned from all schools."
