Hi,

I am trying to identify any signifcant constellations/stars and need some help. Any and all info/links is Greatly appreciated. i.e.: Sirius, north star, masons believe this is an important star (i know, bad example, but i dont know much about this stuff)

Thanks for taking the time to read to this and respond. I sincerely appreciate it. Cheers.

I've not yet read the following book, but you may want to try it as some say it is very good:

And this one is probably even better(just released):

Astrotheurgy: Gnostic Astrology, Initiatic Kabbalah, and the Awakening of the Consciousness

This edition contains three books in its covers: Zodiacal Course, Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology and The Manual of Practical Magic.

In the first two books, Samael Aun Weor gives a complete discourse on the nature of Astrology. In today’s world, the true nature and application of this science has been forgotten completely. In these works, Samael Aun Weor sheds the light of wisdom upon a science that is as ancient as the universe.

In the third book, Samael Aun Weor gives the secrets of Theurgy, White Magic, which is the science of influencing nature’s phenomena in the internal and external worlds under the guidance of Divine Will and Intelligence.

You may find the following to be interesting as well.

Link:

Inhabitants of the Sun

...The Rosicrucians and the Illuminati, describing the angels, archangels, and other celestial creatures, declared that they resembled small suns, being centers of radiant energy surrounded by streamers of Vrilic force. From these outpouring streamers of force is derived the popular belief that angels have wings. These wings are corona-like fans of light, by means of which the celestial creatures propel themselves through the subtle essences of the superphysical worlds...

...If a Solar Man for example, wants to become a Galactic Man, what he should do? Obviously he would have to create the Psycho logical Galaxy within himself, and in order to do so he should have to descend to the Ninth Sphere to work in the Lit forge of Vulcan, and there, in that forge he could create the Phycological Galaxy that would give him the right to live in the entire Galaxy, so he could take a body in the Capital of the Galaxy, in Sirius.

Around Sirius orbit millions of constellations; you had been told that there were 18 millions, but the final calculations say that are much more millions. So, this Galaxy is huge!...

Forgot to add the following books...:

Books on Astrology By Manly P. Hall

...and that there is a free on-line course availible:

Gnostic Esoteric Astrology

The planets move, evolve and progress within the consciousness. The sidereal temples are within the consciousness. The human being is a zodiac and the zodiacal belt is within the consciousness.

The ten Sephiroth of Kabbalah are the solar system. The seven inferior Sephiroth are the seven planets, and the crown formed by Kether, Chokmah and Binah, are the triune spiritual sun.

These ten Sephiroth are within us and we must learn to manipulate them. We must learn how to transfer ourselves to the different stars in order to know the horoscopes of people.

Conversing with the sidereal Gods, we will know our horoscope without the need for the much-boasted about arithmetic astrology.

Arithmetic astrology was for the “Black Age.”(Kali Yuga) The age of “Astro-Theurgy” has now arrived! - Samael Aun Weor

The only star that is mentioned with importance in Masonic ritual is the sun (see the symbol on my avatar).

Some Masonic authors have given importance to Sirius in their writings, but I personally believe they are unfounded. For example, Albert Pike believed that the Blazing Star in the Blue Lodge symbolized Sirius, but he appears to be incorrect, as all the older lectures point it to representing our sun. Also, with Pike's knowledge of the Osirian mythos, he should've known better.

Hey Arist0crat

I think there are two possible answers, depending on what you mean.

1. Do any stars/constellations have any meaning in masonry? No. Just the sun.

2. Can any sort of a link be found between the constellations and freemasonry? Sure, loads.

The lion (Leo) appears in the Royal Arch ritual
There are two pillars at the entrance to the Temple, just like there are two twins (Gemini)
Many freemasons like to eat seafood (cancer)...
... and roast lamb (aries).

These are just for starters (entrees?). I bet we could all come up with some more if we set our minds to it.
