I think that the Freemasons have power, but it's more a function of numbers (there are a LOT of Freemasons out there, so, statistically, you'd
expect a fair number of them to be in positions of authority) than of some global conspiracy to 'rule the world'.
You could probably make a similar case (and people have) for the Catholic Church being The Power Behind The Scenes, and heaven knows (Pun
intentional) that Catholic / Christian symbols are everywhere.
In fact, you can make a case for just about *any* group to be in on a plan to rule the world...the vast majority of U.S. Presidents have been
Protestant, which has to be significant, doesn't it? Most buildings have four corners, symbolic of the four elements...are the neo-Pagans behind it
all? If you look hard enough, you can find symbols and correlations everywhere. It's finding valid ones that are a problem.
I'm also highly skeptical about any plan to 'rule the world', or any group's ability to do so, when said plan or group seems to be limited to the
Western world. Do the Freemasons control China, India, or Japan? If not, then there's a large portion of "the world" (in fact, a majority of its
population) that's outside their sphere.
