172 Militants Planning Attack on Oil Fields Arrested in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Police have arrested 172 militants who were plotting to attack Saudi Arabia's oil fields, storm its prisons to free the inmates and use aircraft in their attacks, the Interior Ministry said in a statement Friday.

Thats quite a sting! 172 Militants involved... they must have used the Saudi Army to nab these guys! lol This could have made our gas prices unbearable, not to mention the massive environmental effects.

These were Al-Qaeda loyalist, or Al-Qaeda. Al-Qaeda is now setting up training camps in Iraq like they had in Afghanistan prior to 9/11. They are obviously well funded and like you said trained pilots among them, so they seem to be readying for another 9/11 style attack.

I'd guess that they were going to hijack the aircraft, or else use some supplied by symapathizers within the Saudi armed forces. I doubt they have their own.
