I was thinking it could be some sort of magnetic disturbance effecting you camera (digital right?)

but baring that it could be anything, even a ghost,

hmm can i say deer antlers or maybe a tree branch thats really out of focus? I have a point and shoot camera, that sometime randomly focus on the background and not the forground...

i know you want me to say SHADOW BEING...but it, i just cant be conclusive...

post em here:
www.abovetopsecret.com...

and let the master have a peek.

Out of curiousity, what were you photographing when you got the images?

(the Honorable James B. Beam was my mentor in college so I dig the name)

Uh, my suggestion is try repeating the effect. Same location, same time of day and weather conditions as possible. Same camera settings and shoot on burst mode. Shoot several sets, the more sets of tests the better. Analyze the results.

Itll be interesting to see, could be a camera oddity of malfunction, a bugs wing (slightly translucent) or any number of flying floating objects (natural objects).

Can also a shadow of an aircraft overhead or a cloud shadow, or any flying creature shadow. Also strange effects are seen at low light times of day (dusk/dawn) as well.

Looks like a shadow person to me. Yup, what you got there is a paranormal entity but the question is this: is it here as friend or foe?

Could it be cigarette smoke? Or even longish brown hair flowing in the wind in front of the camera? If not well, looks awful.

What I don't understand, can you clear this up, is are you the photographer? I ask because you mention that you have questions about the location of the shots taken.

I have further questions regarding the location of these images, but I'll go there when I know more about this pic. Thanks in advance.

Also you mention the following, in the 3rd person:

Why would someone bother to go to the trouble of doing this if it was fake?? I wouldnt even bother.

You know, sometimes photos just come up with some odd shadows and things that don't mean or show anything. Usually it's a result of a lock of hair or a camera strap or something flipping in front of the aperture just as it opens. If a flash is used, the smeared, out of focus image will be light instead of dark.

So, to answer your question, I don't know what it is. Some dark smear of some kind. There's not enough information available to reasonably say anything more than that.

However, I would like to know why some people are so specific about identifying the dark areas as "negative energy" or "ghosts" or "shadow people." What specifically about the image leads you to those conclusions? Just because it's dark and kind of fluid looking? Is that all? And from there you just jump into the whole supernatural explanation?

People's weird interpretations are a lot more interesting than the actual photo.

Might be a spirit. I see a face. I circled it for you.

Ok people, I'll do my best to answer the defining questions that you have asked but in no particular order.

I do not want to mention other things about this location as it may influence what some people think it may be but in saying that, the "other things" did not effect the image physically. If it was hair, a hand, a tree, deer antlers in suburban Sydney or an insect I would not have had the question that I have. I would have seen those obstructions with my own eyes as I used the LCD to view the frame. I was in clear viewing of the sky of which I was trying to capture lightning of which I obviously missed. It is a digital camera, the model I have already mentioned. I took many pictures after this one of which I have studied looking for any other abnormalities.

I was the photographer. It is my camera. I have not altered the image in anyway other than making it smaller. The lense was clean and free from dust or finger prints. I reviewed the image on the camera right after I took the photo and it was visible then.

Spearhead, you must have some messed up hands if they look like the image I got. Fingers off of fingers. Hmm, dont think so, thanks anyway for your input, its all appreciated no matter how silly it may sound. I want you all to ask the questions that I would so that we can rule things out. I have done the best I can to do that. Any further queries, just post em.

ok this is serious. when a person looks into a bright light then away there is a strange darkness till your eyes readjust.
maybe the intense brightness from the lightening stained the cameras focus for a split second as the image was caught.

I just wanted to randomly throw in my camera does that normally. I'll take pictures seconds apart and one does sometimes appear lighter than the other. That and I will randomly take pics of anything. Sometimes literally "just because I can".

That and "Hi", been gone for a bit, kinda back now...

Just curious to understand your reason for using burst-mode?
The scene does not seem to all that busy to multi-shoot it. Or is there something I'm missing here?

As for what it might be?, fingers in front of the camera, the camera strap but some type of clear shot interference maybe.

The OP stated the reason in previous posts I believe, was trying to capture lightning in the scene, the weather conditions seem to agree with this.

Its a leaf falling past the window. judging from the time between the two frames your camera was setup there a while. what were you intending to tape before this happened?
