I'm not sure if this the right forum but if its not mods feel free to move it

When i first came to this site I had Adblock so I never saw any ads,banners,etc. But recently Improperly shut down my computer, and now I see ads EVERYWHERE
I have tried to reconfigure the Adblock program but I m not sure how i got it to the point where it would block ads everytime i went the site automatically. Now I have to click on each ad indvidually each time i vist. SO i was wondering if anyone knows how to us the program or can post/U2U me any suggestions for any other (free) ad blocker programs I would deeply appreciated

Not really

1) It's there place so...they can do what they want.

2) Thats how they get money to keep the site up.

3) They aren't that bad (except for the talking ones
)

As a staff member, I can not even begin to fathom what the monthly bills are for a site of this magnitude. The software alone has to come with absolute catastrophic expenses. Over 100,000 members enjoy the extensive luxuries that come with being a member on the greatest message board on the web, all at no cost.

The only thing that the Administration asks in return is that members do not have an Adblocker running on their browser. Nobody tells you to look at them, are we are all within our own right to completely ignore them, but we should respect them and understand that without these ads, Above Top Secret would probably not even exist.

So is it a bit too much? No, not in the least. It is the least we can do to keep this place running the way it has for so long.

This is quality site and I appreciate the fact that it is all for free..I think I'll just turn off my ad blocker.

No one likes pop-ups. That is why logged in members don't get any.
Also if you find an annoying or inappropriate ad you can report it here.

Kinda off of subject but at the same time its appropriate... For the ATS Presidential election, originally candidates were supposed to be able to submit banner adds to be put into the candidate thread area. I haven't heard any word to when this is going to take place or not. I have the add ready to go I just need the word.

And back to the subject at hand.

To pay for this site the ADMIN need the banner adds. they are just there. I don't really mind them. it's not like they are hurting anyone. I have noticed that when the rare occasion of an offensive loud add shows up when we use the Skeptic Overlords Add Hit list thread to resolve it these nasty adds go away pretty quick. Right now I have an add for Palmolive. so thats not bothering me.

I would rather see ads on this site than have to pay for the privilege of using this site. Once you make people have to pay to use the site the unfortunate part is that us poor paupers out here won't be able to come back.
