Vermont Senate calls for Bush, Cheney impeachment

www.chron.com

MONTPELIER, Vt. — Vermont senators voted today to call for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, saying their actions have raised "serious questions of constitutionality."

The nonbinding resolution was approved 16-9 without debate — all six Republicans in the chamber at the time and three Democrats voted against it.

Oh well do you think Big daddy would ever let that happen to his little shadow boy? He would create WW3 before he would allow his family name to be empeached.

I also posted a thread on Rep Cuchnic(sp?) beginning impeachment process on VP Dick Cheney. Not for nothing but the moment it was public knowledge that Bush was erroneously signing documents into law that had not been passed , something should have been done.

Don't get too excited,

This is nothing, a non-binding declaration, the one which would indeed be the first step is the Kucinich legislation to impeach Cheney, which was put on hold after the Va Tech tragedy.

Next thing you will see from Vermont is a non-binding secession declaration...

Hot air from the government of Vermont..

From an earlier thread on the subject:

Vermont Senate Votes To Impeach President Bush

Wait for the Kucinich effort in Congress, this Vermont deal is nothing......

Glad something being done about the pestilence in American leadership.

About time, I can only chime in. Peculiar and strange how violent incidence coincide. A diversion?

I speculate in this thread:
Conspiracy: VA Tech Massacre to Divert Attention from Impeachment of Cheney

That the Vermont House calls for impeachment too, is new to me.

This is the same crap all the little towns-cities do when they have nothing more important to legislate!

Oh wow vermont votes to impeach!!

Get a life people!!!

A state or city cant impeach!

And no matter how warm and fuzzy it feels to you all, it aint going to happen!

By the States, or the people of the states, beginning the actions of "requesting" an impeachment...

The States' Legislature Is Bringing The Voice Of The People To Congress! Per the Constitution, Congress is the only body that has the right to bring about Impeachment on the President. How do you think the voice of the American people makes it to the Congressional floor? By actions like these taking place.

You are right, redseal, a state or city cannot impeach, but they can light a fire under the asses of those that represent us in Congress.

It would have been more flammable had the Vermont declaration been more than a non-binding agreement.

We have people here calling for impeachment, their non-binding agreeement is no stronger than that.

Let's see if Kucinich goes forward with his impeachment of Cheney, if this disappears, you can forget about impeachment of any kind.

That is true, however as I stated, it is what begins it all... is it not?

There has to be a source of heat, before the fire gets started.

Vermont is a dog that barks but has no bite, the heat will come if Kucinich's attempt gets through Congress, (though I seriously doubt that this will happen).

The Dems have the Pres. on the ropes, VP as well, what would they gain by impeaching them now? Not much IMO...

Impeach the Pres. now, then the Dems would have to bring the troops home immediately, if they don't, they set themselves up for failure in the next elections. I think the Dems are feeling pretty good about their chances, and they believe that leaving the Pres and VP alone will only help them come '08.

It's not about the people, It's all about Politics...........the word should be banned....

As much as I detest the Bush administration's policies, I wouldn't want him impeached. It would pretty much let him get away with responsibility for some of the greatest disasters in US history, and use the new President as a scapegoat.

I say, let him stay on office and take responsibility for the neglect he's placed on the treatment of soldiers, lack of guidance during the N.O floods, corruption stemming from almost everyone he's appointed, and the huge war bill he has placed on this generation and the next to pay off.

How do you suppose he'd take responsibility for his neglect on soldiers, guidance during Katrina, or corruption from everyone he's appointed, and the huge war bill he's placed on this generation?

Not to mention, blatantly ignoring what the American people want.
