When you live
in those moments
it's rare
but the feelings are there
gushing
spilling your guts

what brought it?
that perfect moment
when you laughed
and your eyes gleamed
bright wet to
drench your sorrows

remembered now faintly
the emotional rush
softened by time
tugging remorse down
in webbing spun thickly
and muffled to the ground

Love it, masqua.

This is one of those great poems that conjures "that perfect moment" for everyone who reads it...and I'll bet everyone's moment is very different.

A poem that fits every reader like a glove....simple and beautiful.

Nice work.

Thanks, Essedarius. I wrote it on the spur of the moment after coming back from a friends observatory and scanning the cosmos before he had to set up for a CCD shot.

I felt that old feeling tugging at me as I drove home last night and logged on to write this, wanting to capture the thought.

I appreciate the comment

To give you an idea of my friends capability with a CCD camera, here's a shot he was disappointed in. I have his permission to post it.

Being with him when he's working is a real pleasure and memories of all those times in that dark bubble on his roof brought the writing on.

We should all be lucky to have friends like him.
