Since no one else has done so thus far, and it appears to be the only clear, concise way of translating this:
Drop it, Kr0n0s.
The issue is that you treated war like a joke, and made out the United States Navy to be invincable -- immune, in a sense that you weren't just talking about some Iranian boat.
Perhaps the most-bothersome to some, certainly to me, is that instead of engaging maturely and thoughtfully on a serious discussion, you decided to simply wave the 'U.S. kicks -' flag.

It's the simple fan-boyism that go to most of it, it appears.
The fact is that any 'assessment' was clearly missing from that post.

If you have any constructive, technical feedback, feel free.

Agree with you here Iblis. Well said olde man...well said.

The USS Cole incident in Aden harbor, Yemen should be self explainitory about the invincibility of the US Navy. THere have been others. The USS Stark is another.
Our problems with our Navy are primarily Leadership problems from the top down to the bottom including the civilian portion of the US Navy. Especially our politicians. This is not a new problem.

By the way..the USS Wisconsin is berthed right across the bay from me in Norfolk, Virginia as a public display at a place called Nauticus. You can see this on the web. Very intresting tour to take. I dont hold much hope or see any practicallity in returning these ships to service in this day and age. Hence the weapons thread on here of the battleships being returned to service. I cannot imagine what some people are thinking here.

I salute you Iblis for your sense of honor, convictions and civility here.

Thanks,
Orangetom

Kr0n0s said the comment about the Iowa, if you check page 1 at the beginning, his reply is like 1 sentence. It isn't dogging Iran, making the U.S. sound great, etc.

The reply UNDER HIS, by that other guy, is the one bashing Iran, collethedog i think his name is. And he also made the "U.S navy is uber" statement in so much words.

So for the RECORD,

Why dont you guys lay off kr0n0s he didnt do a damn thing!

Freaking Buzzards..

Hey rune, thanks for the support but don't sweat it, I'm not. I had already tried explaining that I bashed no person and no country. However when trolls like this start making personal remarks, I will reply in kind. It is apparent that we are dealing with people who's family tree doesn't fork, I try to take that into consideration when making my replies.
Speaking of which, this will be my last reply. If the trolls continue to follow me around harassing me like bodrul did, then I will take appropriate action.

Buzzards; hehe, funny

Since apparently not only did it not get through, but yet another person decided to join in:
Drop-It.
We don't care who started it. We don't care what happens now -- Just know that several members took offense, and we need to collectively shut out mouths.
-Especially- the members whom keep bringing it up. And they're not the ones on your side, Kr0n0s.

Back to discussion.

First Iranian-built destroyer launched in Gulf

This article has a little information.

And there is a picture as well:

Sorry if I brought up an old thread, didn't really pay attention to the date

I agree I think the whole anti-America flinch is little over the top. The topic was presented not as a technical debate but a open one right? And so I am going to give my opinion as such and if you thought his was bad hold onto you support hose.

I hope they build a whole bunch of new ships and they are manned by the best Iran has to offer and then we sink every last one of them. I think it would be great to bring I don't know maybe the Wisconsin out of retirement and use the big guns so it is a sporting match.

Maybe we could even get them huddled together some how and make it look like the highway of death in Kuwait but in the ocean. I know dare to dream. I wonder what they would call that maybe the Iranian Davy Jone's locker.

This thread is older than me
well I guess my return post is timeless.

i would prefer getting both the US fleet and iranian fleet
and bombing both of them simultaneously

that way both sides get what they want

the US chest beaters get Iranian blood on their hands
and vice versa for the Iranian team.

win win

hahahhaah if Iran is even thinking about questioning our naval authority they will need a lot more than a destroyer. That thing will be below sea level the second we want it to be.

Yes, reminds me of the joke about the "new" French navy all having glass-bottomed hulls.

Reason: So they could keep the "old" French navy in sight.

French military jokes - you gotta love 'em.

It is still interesting though, just on the basis that Iran CAN build it's own modern warships, missiles and technology.

Americans just laugh at other nations military technology, but just remember a few things:

America has lost every single war it has started against every other country it has attacked over the last sixty years.
Perfect score, loses every single time.

America only wins when it has allies, or the UN, or NATO to help it.
All other wars America has fought alone in, it has lost.

Iran is the largest, wealthiest, and most technically modern industrial nation in the middle east. Or put another way, the most formidable enemy America has yet taken on since WW2.

Iran has many friends and powerful allies in the region.
America only now has Israel.
And Israel has never assisted America militarily in any of it's wars, ever.

And if you include all the false flags, espionage, and deceptions that Israel has perpetrated against the US, Israel is really more of an enemy not an ally of America.

So Iran now has a new warship.
I say good for them.

This is going to be a hard sell I know but here it goes. Has America really fought any of the wars you speak of? If we really wanted to win we would have think about we could have just bombed them until every man woman and child was dead right we have that many bombs and they have no way to stop them. So save you anti-America crap and spew it somewhere else. Or better yet don't let you blind hate make you say things as fact when in realty it is personal truth.

The Iranian navy is like a college football team going against the super bowl champs. They would have no chance. We are 50 years ahead of everyone else and that is the stuff you see what about all of the stuff we don't see. So no matter how bad you want America to be weak we will always be the biggest kid on the block. And if we start to fall I bet the countries that threaten us will pay a huge cost. It is the truth I am sorry

That is the American view of war.
"Bomb them until every living thing is dead".

And it is the exact reason why you never win in any war, and never will.

Americans just do not understand warfare.

It always has to be a fight to the death, with no mercy, and no compromise.

When you have your American revolution, it will be exactly the same.

Killing without mercy, bloodshed, and mindless brutality without end, until every last American is dead, and the nation left a smoking ruin.

That is how Americans think, and how Americans fight.
And it is about to destroy you all.

With any war ship its 40% ship and 60% crew that makes a warship.

The USS Cole incident in Aden harbor, Yemen should be self explainitory about the invincibility of the US Navy. THere have been others. The USS Stark is another.

With both these incidents the ships survived and later returned to service.
that is the 60% that the crew plays in operating a war ship.

Can Iranian crews save there ships with the same amount of damage.

On US warships damage control training equals in importance to weapons training.

US navy ships have the best damage control equipment there is out there on the market. And US navy crews will fight to save there ship till no hope is left of saving the ship.

Every US navy ship that is lost or damaged since before WW2 has a inquiry board convened to find out the cause, what was done to save the ship, and what equipment to add to navy ships to prevent future loss.,

I was involved i two of these inquiries.
the first USS Enhance fire March 17, 1973 during Operation Endsweep.
www.navsource.org...
home.earthlink.net...

And the USS force fire 24 April 1973 during Operation Endsweep.
home.earthlink.net...

Incident reports on the USS Enhance and USS Force fires
102msos.8m.net...
They made changes in equipment and training after both of these fires
the USS Enhance had another major engine room fire 01/05/75 that it also survived do to lessons learned from earlier wooden minesweeper fires.

Do the Iranian crews have this type training or equipment or will they man the life boats with the first hit.

That is where the 60% crew that makes a warship comes in.

Quite right ANNED.

Training and organization is at least as important as the technology.

In the days of sail and cannons, the British Navy ruled the oceans because they had the best sailors. They had iron discipline, and they carried out their deadly trade with superb efficiency..

I know nothing about the Iranian Navy except they have some good ships, and some highly regarded Kilo class submarines. They probably have some pretty good training too.

Iran has been under constant threat by the US and Israel now for many years. And before that by Iraq. Those guys know for sure war is coming again.
No doubt they will fight very hard to protect their nation and their families.

Being prepared is all part of that, and they have now had many years to prepare for the coming war.

I usually love you Australian's but I guess every basket you have a couple you need to chuck in the garbage right. So are you saying we lost ww2 and ww1? how did the US start as a country? Maybe you should read a little history it might make your argument a little stronger if you know what I mean.

My point that I made in a very harsh way because I am so sick of the Anti-American crap is that if we did not fight in a politically correct way and put everything we had into it we would have lost no wars in the past 100 years but it is more about money and politics sometimes. And I guess it may still be to early but you could also in about 5 years consider Iraq a victory on the military end.

So if you are truly worth you weight please explain how we lost ww1 and ww2 thank you.

I almost forgot we already had the American revolution.
