SCOTUS: Justices Uphold Abortion Procedure Ban

news.yahoo.com

The Supreme Court's new conservative majority gave anti-abortion forces a landmark victory Wednesday in a 5-4 decision that bans a controversial abortion procedure nationwide and sets the stage for further restrictions.

It was a long-awaited and resounding win that abortion opponents had hoped to gain from a court pushed to the right by President Bush's appointees.

What comes next will they decide to take up Roe V Wade again and over turn it? Abortion and or the right to have one should be up to the individual not the government

Just chipping away at the sucker. Thats the new tactic. With Kennady as the new swing vote, who knows how the court will rule on less other anti abortion laws.

I expected this BTW. The real test will come with parental noticification or some of the states proposing outright bans.

Its just a matter of time till an activest religious right legislature and activist D/A in some bible thumping state try to test a all out ban on abortions just to get it to the SCOTUS :shk:

You know Shots, we don't see eye to eye on much, but this is one of those things I agree with you on. We knew that this administration was aiming to put certain people in certain positions to secure a certain "values" and practices, and I think this is the first step toward overturning Roe v Wade. It's almost like they were testing the waters to see if they could get away with it.

So it begins...
