I remember when this was banned here.
I always thought it was strange that states would wanna ban such things,if there was never any plan to chip the population.
Well hats off to N.D for drawing the line between security and privacy.

(ComputerWorld)-April 12, 2007 (Computerworld) -- As expected, North Dakota has become the second state in the U.S. to ban the forced implanting of radio frequency identification (RFID) chips in people.

The two-sentence bill, passed by the state legislature, was signed into law by Gov. John Hoeven last Wednesday. Essentially, it forbids anyone from compelling someone else to have an RFID chip injected into their skin. The state follows in the steps of Wisconsin, which passed similar legislation last year.

Marlin Schneider, the state legislator who sponsored the Wisconsin law, said he is glad to see an antichipping legislation trend. However, such statutes don't go far enough to curb the ability of private sector retailers and manufacturers to "implant these things into everything we buy."

My question is why only 2 states banning this?

Why not all states?

Don't look good for us here in US.

RFID can be nice technology, for example if your kid is missing RFID could help! This could also be used to combat crime and to replace cash and plastic cards, which can be stolen. Also it would be hard for terrorists to get correct chip so this could also help combat terrorism!

Btw, ban on something not even practiced is not to prevent it but to condition you to this thing. You will read about it, talk about it, until it becomes part of your reality. Then you will accept it. There is no negative propaganda.

If theres a chip in your kids arm and some pedophile kidnapper has him whats stopping him from just lopping off your kids arm? So instead of being raped now the kids going to be raped and dismembered. Not that he wouldnt just be killed anyway. But finding his corpse in one nice package would be hard since body parts would be spread out everywhere to prevent tracking the criminal. Maybe fed to a dog so the chip would track the dogs movements. Anyway, its very far from perfect. You'd have to drill into the sternum or something.

I think more state arent doing it because a) it doesnt seem real and such a banning would come off as crazy and paranoid b) they hope to make use of the technology themselves.

Trust digital angel. Its not the mark of the beast.

Im working on a foil suit to block the RF.

Seriously though, if they want to 'tag and release' me theyre going to have to do it to my corpse.

Well, you can always implant micro-sized chips anywhere, so pedophiles and priests would have no clue where it's hidden. Maybe it could even record other chips in vicinity and this would help to ID the criminal later.

The chips have to be scanable to do their function. How would you keep the scanning hardware out of peoples hands? With the rerrorists thing, whats to stop them from scanning some kidnapped guys body and getting the chips that way? They have no problem taking hacksaws to peoples necks why would they have a problem removing limbs or chunks of flesh to get at a chip?

Modern chips are like particles of dust big and you can put them in the head somewhere and make them unusable once removed.

Why are you people so much against RFID anyway? You get protection, easy money transactions, fight crime, find lost kids, have all medical record with it like blood type for emergencies and so on. It's a great invention and a step closer to real borg community. Well, we can dream...

Well, thats a new one. Im used to people pushing Star Trek as proof of some Socialist utopia or using intergalactic space travel as a reason to push for one world government but this has got to be the first time Ive seen someone get excited about becoming some future-cyborg ant colony whos only purpose is to 'assimilate' others.

I guess we all have our unique perspectives. Just never thought anyone would want to be an ant. Let alone a cyborg ant.

Ah come on, what is so bad about Star Trek? World is united economically already, except for a few pockets, but that will change soon. Countries and states are more and more integrated/connected and logical outcome of all this progress is united world with planetary government and without theocracy.

that was my first thought when i heared microship that it would help allot of kids but then the kids would just grove up to slavery and no freedom

Of course it can work. RFID or not, it is possible. All we need is to realize this planet is too small for us to constantly attack each other and we need to give science a chance, not just greed and corruption like today.
