This is an image taken at the South Pole of Mars. The raw image has been taken from the NASA site. I have annotated and enlarged the images so that you can have a closer look at the structure.

It does seem strange that this natural geological shape can form into such a geometric arrangement. Note the square blocks on the left side of the structure which look as though they have been intelligently constructed, equidistant to each other, as well as the ‘design’ of the ‘roof’!

Looks artificial, but that’s near impossible!! How can aliens be on Mars??
If not, then probably one of our secret ‘Black’ projects that have already established base there!!

But seriously, this feature at the South Pole IS intriguing!!

Cheers!

Original Image.

Looks like ancient ruins of a factory to me. Definitely not natural.
Wow! Is this photo "untouched"?

Wow... but I won't get too exicted untill I see the same formations on the original. What area on the original should I be looking at?

Cool pic!
What is the scale on those pics?

Richard C. Hoagland was on Coast to Coast Thursday night, and he was talking about some new evidence of structures on Mars. Even being able to discern structure of a massive building (girders or rafters or something). I wonder if he has found something similiar to this? He is supposed to break his story soon with evidence that will "knock our socks off!"...

Anyway, that is a very strange formation there Mike to be natural geometric arrangement as you say. I can only imagine what that structure could be... I wonder if it is ours, alien, or past civilization structure?

It's a Giant Waffle

But seriously you can't tell anything from those pics, there like the worst I saw... They'll picture it again and it will turn out to be a cliff.

Looks vaguely like a mars rover too

Nice find!

This is what it reminds me of:

It's a NASA site. Click here! It's the second image in the second row.

Cheers!!

Don't worry, I trust you enough to know it'd be the official/original image.
What I meant was where on the actual image should I be zooming in on?

My eyes are too tired to scan the entire image zoomed in...help me out!

Its in the left part, you can compare from the crater in that leaning wizard style brighter area, heh.

My opinion: THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THERE!

1) JPG compression is high (as seen along the black border)
2) Its taken from VERY high above the surface (that's the entire pole we're looking at)
3) You cant make a factory out of a few pixels. The algorithm for enlarging it will make a ton of things and shapes, but its not there. The "geomatric arrangement" and perceived shadows of of the "domes" or "chimneys" is all fake.

Edit
This is what the mystery area look like to me:

Have you heard of this guy William Cooper? I learned about him on ATS, if you watch this video, towards the end he speaks of the US, Russia and an Alien race with a joint base on Mars. It's long, but it's fascinating:

www.youtube.com...

He was later killed. A lot of folks believed the government got rid of him.

Sorry about the William Cooper video, just about a month ago the full 90 minute version was there, now I see they've edited it down to 8 - 9 min.

It was in the last 15 minutes of the video that he stated categorically the base existed.

Perhaps someone has the unedited version.

Jeez!! Even if I tried I couldn't have produced that masterpiece of yours!!

This is what it looked to me. And it's a simple enlargement of this image..

Slightly better! Check out the area marked with a white square. Then there is software like ENVI. But hell! That costs the Moon! $5000 plus!! With it you'll probably be able to pick out an alien having a beer on an ice floe!!

Cheers!

Oh crap! And I was all up and ready for that video!

I betcha they've censored that part. And I doubt you'll find it anywhere unless someone has saved it on his cmptr!

enlarging an image that much is going to produce so many artifacts you won't be able to make out anything. Saying it's a factory, or building is absurd, as the scale of the origional would not discern anything that small to begin with.

If it's not photoshop,(which I know nothing about by the way) it definatly looks interesting.

Good find.

It's obviously artificial.

It's artificial because it's the result of changing the brightness, contrast and probably the sharpness of an image which originally had 5000 colours and now has only 100.

It's also artificial because the original image is a highly compressed JPG that shows many JPG artefacts.

So, in my opinion, that thing shown in the first image is completely artificial because it is the result of negligent or fraudulent alteration of a real image.

PS: With an exclamation point and a question mark on the title this could only be a post by mikesingh.

There's a huge rectilinear wall running round that that thing, btw. Takes up half the photo.

Great catch, I love these kind of off planet pics

Another image of Mars "structures"! Could it be a mikesingh thread?

IF their were cities and lost civilizations on mars we could plainly see them!

You can make out the great wall of china from space, so say 10,000 yrs in to the future we are all extinct, wouldnt images of new yourk or LA be very prevolent from a telescope? all these supposed images show very remote and few anomolies. Do the aliens only build 1 building every few thousand of miles? Highly unlikely if their is/was ever intelligent life their.

No offense Mike but I can no longer look at your threads, it's like the Boy who cried wolf, I'm not saying that what you see isn't real or valid, but I just can't see anything in any of the posts you consistently post on in this forum. I have a really hard time understanding why someone would post so much on the subject with things that are so difficult for everyone it seems to agree on.

Mars is an interesting planet, there are a TON of pictures that have amazing geological features, with good resolution and quality, so obviously the photos haven't scratched the surface of providing everything there is to see on the planet, I really hope someday we will with better photos as time moves forward.

I'm going to ignore these post from now on, your posts have been more defeating than encouraging on the subject so I just need to step away and politely wish you the best of luck in your quest to discover alien life in this fashion.
