Water detected on distant planet

Water has been detected for the first time in the atmosphere of a planet outside our Solar System.

One step closer to possible evidence that other beings can survive outside the Solar System? There MUST be somewhere. Exciting stuff.

Fifth or sixth "new" thread on the "go" about this already... I guess it doesn't matter. That Barman's research and methodology has not yet been peer-reviewed or repeated independently must be taken into consideration as well.

He and Knutson have done some fine work and I hope the findings are confirmed. As others have stated on other threads on this topic - too bad it's a gas-giant instead of a dense terrestrial like Sol 3.
