Happy Birthday Cheetah, 75!!

Cheetah from the Tarzan movies is 75!! I couldnt believe he was still alive. Apparently most chimps only live to around 40yrs of age in the wild, so Cheetah has nearly doubled that.

Cheetah is considered to be the world's oldest chimpanzee.
He was born in Liberia in 1932 and made his movie debut in 1934.
He featured in around a dozen Tarzan movies and retired after starring in the 1967 film Dr Doolittle with Rex Harrison.

He's also outlived his human stars from those Tarzan movies. Johnny Weissmuller was also a world class swimmer.

Cheeta outlived both his human co-stars. Johnny Weissmuller, who played Tarzan, died in 1984, aged 79, and Maureen O'Sullivan, who played Jane, died in 1998 at 87.

Brought back some memory's when i heard this on the news of sitting around watching the saturday afternoon matinee movie's when i was a kid.
Anyone else a fan of the old Tarzan movies, my favorite was the one about King Solomons mine.
