Nowak's Car Had Bondage Photos, Pills

ORLANDO, Fla. Apr 10, 2007 (AP)— A police search of former astronaut Lisa Nowak's car turned up bondage photos on a computer disk, British currency and pills, according to documents released Tuesday by prosecutors.

A judge last week agreed to unseal some of the documents in the Nowak's case. She is accused of trying to kidnap a rival for a space shuttle pilot's affections.

Nearly all of the 16 images found on the disk depicted bondage scenes, according to a forensic examination report by the Orlando Police Department. Some of the images showed a nude woman while others were drawings.

The documents did not make clear whether Nowak was the woman in the photos or who the disks belonged to.

This woman is looking nuttier, and nuttier all the time...
Perhaps another questions should be asked in why NASA is allowing this kind of fraternization between it’s astronauts to begin with? If I am not mistaken this kind of, “dating among the ranks”, is not allowed in other military branches, so why was it being allowed in this instance, by those who are supposed to be the most elite of military pilots? I have not seen any criticism of the relationship between Bill Oefelein and Colleen Shipman, nor of Bill Oefelein himself, who is apparently making the rounds in NASA.

Nowak is obviously, and deservedly going to go to prison as a sexual predator here in Florida. However IMHO, Oefelein also needs to be resigned from NASA for having an affair with a married officer while dating another, which the last time I checked, was also against military regulations.

Sure she's nutty, but don't let the kinky photos be the deciding factor. I mean, who doesn't have photos of themselves wearing a gag-ball and a bridle.

Yes it is pretty troubling, isn't it? Apparently it's no big deal to pop a fistful of pills, throw on a diaper, load up some S&M porn and drive off to kill your love rival.

Good thing she (or Oefelein or Shipman) didn't insult a women's basketball team or anything. The media'd be all over that one. We'd need some ANSWERS then, by golly!

This new information just adds to the troubling nature of what this former astronaut did. If she was going to kidnap the other gal, what on earth were the bondage pics for?

This makes no sense in my opinion. If you had everythin that she did in her car, would you run back in the house before leaving, thinking to yourself "oops, I forgot the bondage pics"?

Also what were the numerous orange pills going to be used for? I cant wait to hear what they actually were. Do you think they could have been used to knock the kidnapee out? Or was Nowak planning on using them to kill her?

Regardless, It is astounding to me that someone with as much pride and dignity as an astronaut could stoop so low, so as to kidnap/kill someone else because of a love enfatuation? This is by far one of the most bizarre cases I have seen in a while.

Pills, kinky photos, and money. I bet she's a hoot to party with!

It makes me wonder... what "fun" the other half of the "robo-chicks", the body-builder babe might be up to... amongst others.

Is Nowak still in Texas "supervising" precision landings at the Texas Naval Air Station? She's not back in court till Sept 24th... plenty of time for more?

Geraldo likes "strange" (Maggie Trudeau, etc.)... the interview, the book, the movie... UFO conventions, porno-conventions. I am guilty of Schadenfreude in the worst way and expect a wide variety of media to cascade at some point.

I would have to guess that she was going to prove to Shipman that she was having an affair with Oefelein. I would venture that knowing as much about the case as we do so far, that the photos end up being of her and Oefelein, but that bit is not being officially released yet. As I said above though this woman obviously went crazy and is now paying the price for it. Oefelein was not an innocent party in this situation either, by any means. Shipman is the most innocent of the three, but still should not have been dating a fellow officer.

Upon further research on the Military stance to affairs this is what I have found out the current stance is:

Under the revised military code, adultery would be kept on the books as a crime and would subject officers to court-martial and dismissal. But military commanders would be encouraged to apply those rules only in cases where the adultery affects what the military calls "good order and discipline."

So it might be somewhat questionable what NASA could have done about these relationships back when this all started, as at first they did not effect “Good Order or Disipline”. They may have been able to do something about it under the provision of it being an act “of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces". However, now both of these things apply and there should be two new slots opening up in NASA’s astronaut corp as far as I am concerned.
