One of my friends is a Laser optics engineer. He used to be a coffeeshop owner to try and be his own boss. But that didn't turn out okay. So he went back to the Defense industry and is now working on the 747-Laser project. Not sure where he is on it. He doesn't talk much about it.

I would venture a guess that the energy will be drawn from the powerplant sacrificing mil power from thrust.

Shattered OUT...

If the power is drawn from the aircraft this sounds like a prime candidate for the F-35 with it's extra lift fan shaft.

Yeah the United States has a bomber canada built , I think they have 10 or so for test , they also have our bombardier trains and that is all . The only real trade between the United States and Canada is plants for farms .

The canadian American bombers have lasers in the front like the old dehaviland planes , it looks like wind gear up by the knose it is the laser you are talking about . The canadian plane has a 50 caliber phlanx gun mounted on the bomber with the laser and 20 harpoon missels when the back of the plane open up like a cargo bay . It carriers a couple thousand pound bombs the laser is for air to air defense of the plane . Them bombers fly with the new Avro planes of kanatas we like em .
