I was in DC over the past week for a business trip. One day in the afternoon after the training session myself and a co-worker went to downtown DC to take some photographs.

The following picture was taken at 4:55 pm on April 4, 2007.
It has been unaltered with the exception of adding a copyright mark.

i159.photobucket.com...

Below the copyright mark you will see....something?

I would love to know what this thing is. If you can enhance the image to prove it is a bird, a plane, hell even a speck of dust, PLEASE do so!

I did not notice this object when I took the picture. I only realized this was in the picture AFTER I started showing my pictures with family during Easter today.

For comparison, here are a couple other pictures I took while I was down there:

i159.photobucket.com...

The above picture is a plane flying past the Washington Monument. Yes, I was attempting to take the picture of the plane. The photo was taken at 4:56 PM on the same day.

i159.photobucket.com...

The above picture is another picture of the Capitol. You can see below my copyright mark a bird. No I did not know the bird was in the picture until after reviewing this photo. The photo was taken at 6:27 PM on the same day, from a different angle.

Once again, I would absolutely LOVE a reasonable explanation for this object.

I'm tired and wacked out on peeps, that's my defence. As for the pics I thought that anyone could see that the first one: bird, second: plane, third: bird again.. so I just made a joke post.

I zoomed in on the photo, played with it in Photoshop a little, and it doesn't look like a bird or plane to me. BUT, I'm not the best with Photoshop, and I came here for some constructive input.

Guys, stop giving this guy a hard time.

As someone said above, JRitzmann is the guy to see about things like this. Copy/Paste your first post and post a new topic in his forum, and he will be able to give you more help.

That is a sharp as i can get the outline of the UFO (Meaning it is unidentified...)

Looks disc-shaped to me, but i'm not an expert. I can't see and definition that could warrant labeling it a bird.

My co-worker was also taking photos at the same time.
When I see her tomorrow I'll ask her to review her photos for anything odd.
Her camera is a higher megapixel one than mine, if we're lucky she took a picture of the Capitol at the same time.

One picture = 1000 words, so I'm good on the 'one liners' rule, right?

Above is the best zoom I could do with the programs I have.

Just remember:
Exposure Time 1/200 sec

If this were a bird, I would imagine that it would be more clearly defined.

I think a mod should step in here!

Drexon, what right do you have to say/post something like this!!

This is erogance to an extreme level, no one cares if your tired or whatever, show some respect!

I dont care how many points you have or how long youve been here, your no more an expert than a newbie first timer. That was just rude.

redseal> Sorry phantomm and anyone else that might've been offended, I thought it was funny.

I suspect that it is a bird flying by. It is most likely closer to the camera than it seems to appear. Remember it would get blurred unless you are sure you shot at a shutter speed of around 500 or up. You could check the image EXIF data.

I applied a few filters...

Detect Edges:

Detect Horizontal Edges:

The information I posted previously is all from the EXIF data of the original image.
