US to attack Iran by end of April: report

The US is planning to attack Iran's nuclear reactors and other nuclear facilities by the end of this month, the Kuwait-based Arab Times newspaper reported Wednesday.

Citing anonymous sources in Washington, it said that various White House departments had started preparing the political speech to be delivered by the US president later this month, announcing the military attack on Iran.

I guess we'll know by the end of April.

Considering everything that's been going on, I think it's highly likely the U.S. will attack Iran soon, and looking at all the factors, such as the deployments of carrier battle groups and whatnot, this month would seem to be a most opportune time for a strike -- assuming the U.S. plans to carry one out at all.

Then again, the future has an uncanny way of defying confident prediction, and this could all end up being nothing but rumors of war instead of war.

The past lives only in our memories, the future only in our dreams, and the present just beyond our grasp.

You would have thought that, what with the recent release of the captive 15 Brits, the situation with Iran would have calmed down somewhat. But no...

Now, if the U.S attacked Iran, I think everyone is concerned about the response from Russia, Pakistan etc. but i've been doing some research and it seems Russia and Pakistan said the same things when the US invaded Iraq as they are saying now-"not a good idea", "we will not support you", "major repurcussions" etc.

There wasnt to my knowledge a war fought between the US, Iraq, Russia and Pakistan-only between the first 2.

Now then, I've also come across rumours and reports that NATO and Russia are to meet on April 18th to discuss an ABM system somewhere in Europe. Russia seems to be on its ascention to joining the WTO. Iran has just finished paying them for nuclear supplies after an issue over debt, so surely the Russians wouldn't send more weapons unless they knew without a doubt Iran would pay on time and be able to pay in the first place.

I'm feverently hoping that there isn't a US attack on Iran anytime soon, based on past trends of the US saying jump and the UK saying how high.

My prediction is thus: the US is playing a long waiting game. The ABM deployment is turn 1 in that game. IF Iran turns out to be developing nukes and for some reason we dont find out before they launch it, we have the ABM to shoot it down and then a justification to invade-which will surely be backed up by most of the civilised world. IF Iran is found to be producing nukes BEFORE they launch one-same scenario, only without the use of ABM.

I personally think Operation Bite is a load of rubbish but then you never do know. And now this report....hmm, sort of on the edge as to what will occur, but surely the Bush regime knows of the possible repercussions of a strike against Iran, and surely knowns that if they are too great perhaps war isnt the best course of action?

I guess time will tell.

This "U.S. will attack iran by fill in the blank" is starting to remind me of all those religious nuts that predict the end of the world by a certain date and then have to keep revising the date when nothing ever happens.

if there capable of killing ameriac citizens, and then sending the rest of the countries fighters to die in an illegal war, i think there certainly capable of going against iran soon

I think this is either disinformation or misinformation (or simply made up). I don't think that an overt attack is coming any time soon.

New moon is the 17th I believe. That is later in the month and a strategic move.

Yeah i thought it was suppose to happen tomorrow? What happened to that rumor LOL?

Just so we all know, when's the next new moon after April 17th. While you're at it, might as well project them out for the next couple of years, if you get my point ...

I love the way it goes "citing anonymous sources in Washington"...do you not think that Washington would probably NOT tell..the India eNews before it told its own people. There probably won't be an attack on friday. I can't see one in the near future either.

First its April 6, which we now see didn't happen...
Now it is before the end of April...

Since the last one didn't pan out, I'll vote for this one (have to believe something, folks).

I do not believe that a date for attack of Iran by the US and its allies would be made public knowledge, or even leaked for that matter.

I tend to agree with disownedsky- the article is mis/disinformation.

If and when this strike it occurs we will be just going about our business as usual. I for one am not sitting around waiting, counting off the days, looking for full moons and ominous signs.
