First of all...we (the Army) do not to go "boot camp"...we got to Basic Combat Training. (or "Basic"..."Basic Training", etc)

And no...we are not broken. You make the transition from civilian to Soldier.

If you want to call that process being "broken"...well, you probably are not IN the Army. Or maybe you were in long ago...in very different times...but no one is "broken".

Furthermore...the Army does not take away your individualism...they instead teach you the importance of UNIFORMITY. We are dress the same...FOR A REASON. We have customs and courtesies...FOR A REASON.

If you want to insult those...fine...thats your right as an American...but we, sir, are not broken...not brainwashed, and not deprived of our sense of being an individual.

The United States Military is the way it is for a REASON. It defends this country. If you don't like that...LEAVE. Pick a country, I'm sure you can afford a plane ticket.

I thought Dragonskin did make it to army testing grounds...

Either way... I know if I had my boots in the sand I would much rather go in wearing any armor even if it was hotpink with daisies, then go in with nothing when the bullets start flying at me...

i agree, no one is "Broken." from what i've heard, the only thing they do to you is teach you to become "Numb" in combat. my father was in the military, i was born in Fort Karsen (which is the center of nuclear weaponry and also where they give the command to fire nuclear weapons for the whole U.S.) in the shadow of cheyenne mt. in Colorado. he taught me everything he learned from the military as far as close quarter combat and weapon handling goes, but he also said that when he went into basic he was taught to "numb" himself so that way his adrenaline would pump faster causing any pain inflicted on him not to be as "painful." i too hope to join the military someday... only when they let us have long hair that is ;D
