Untilted,

Would you rather be in a prison in the UK or one in Syria?

PS -- The first picture you have was taken seconds after he was captured. Not after he was imprisoned for months or anything like that. He looks haggard because he woke up literally a few seconds earlier. I imagine it isn't the best way to be woken up, but I don't think that it necessarily goes to your point that prisoners in "western" countries are maltreated.

I wonder what Bush would have been doing at this stage if these were American troops held captive in Iran? Would he be playing it as cool as Tony Blair? Would he be using stronger words with his speeches? What do you think?

I would questions whenthose pictures where taken, i.e. before they showed the Footage of our Detainees (UK) who showed deprivatiion of sleep, or after....

I have looked @ the images you have shown, an compared themtot he footage showed by Iranian News Channel, cleary shows a distinction on howmuch those servicemen/women are being derpived of sleep.......

Like I said before . . . the Iranians will take care of the UK prisoners and they will pamper them.

This is a very clear lesson of hospitality to teach the rest of the world the difference.

They will not harm a hair of any of those prisoners head.

Do it through pshycologiacal means, (make sure they have so much interogation, they wont have enough sleep to even think right... or promising them if they co-operate they will go hoime one day, then turn round and say sorry you cant gohome right now........

Rather than beatin them up, and showing the physical evidence on T.V......

What state will they be like when they leave or are released from Iran?

Anymembers got intakes on how they will react, or the illnisses theywill hve to cope with because of this?

Well, look at it this way: treating the prisoners nicely would bolster their image across the world as, well, less of a "rogue nation."

There's no drawbacks for Iran in treating them better, only benefits.

Spencer,

I think you are pushing it a little here... it seems like you want them to be mistreated... probably not but still man you got to admit that the pictures of these soldiers are not even close to as bad as the pictures of the people at GITMO

I agree they are probably not being mistreated (for propaganda alone), but you have to admit that pictures like those don't proove whether or not they are being psychologically tortured.

I think what Iran thinks, George Bush, for all his foreign policy faults, would have resolved this one way or another by now. There is a reason they took British soldiers.

great, so there should not be any torture if you are correct...

but there is!

Correct. Why?

Because a MINORITY of people are doing this or supporting this.

...as for my spelling it is so typically arrogant to think that everyone on this planet should speak and type english fluently...

It's an English forum and if you don't make an effort to spell, misconceptions can arise.

funny thing is that all you see is hate when one is pointing to the truth

All I see is a really, really, weird post full of hate. Hate, hmmm, lets see, so far you have said:

"can`t you read?"

"or are you just stupid westerner?..."

"hahaha, I think you are retarded..."

"no wonder you naive westerners get blown up by your own governments..."

"you deserve it"

"and what good did it do?

absolutely nothing!!!"

"we can easilly analyze how westerners treat their captives..."

"pathetic, you can`t comprehend even that"

So yeah, that does show allot of hate AND misconceptions INSULTING Western people, because according to you a minority is a majority. MikeboydUS has already deproved what you call, 'the truth'. Even if you are saying the truth, it doesn't matter, you have nothing to back it up.

some people must learn the hard way - you reap what you saw, and that is hard to except - that your Nemesis, Iranians treat their prisoners like decent human beings, unlike your free, democratic governmentS do!!!!

CLEARLY our Prisoners ARE treated well, how hard is that to understand? Gawd.... Go look it up before you spout crap out. I have seen images of severe torture perpitrated by Easterners, yet, unlike your logic, I DON'T think all Easterners are like that.

If you want to see the images, google it.

is Terry Jones spreading hate too?...

No, he is stating his opinion, and in MY opinion, it's a really terrible one.

is he generalizing when he says `we` too?

Now you're getting stupid.......

At the moment, all I'm seeing from either of you is two people bickering over minor details.

Anyhow, as for the detainees, we really can't know how they are being treated until the next broadcast of them comes to surface. It's that simple.

Even if you are 'looking tired' I'm not sure that's necessarily evidence of sleep deprivation tactics being used by the Iranians..

I mean, I don't know about you, but if *I* were being held captive by an 'enemy' nation, regardless of being treated decently enough, considering the current world tensions, I'm not sure I'd be sleeping all *that* well..

Maybe you're different from me and could happily get a solid 9 hours whilst under fear for your liberty or life though..

As has already been stated, the only way to know for sure how the captives were treated will be to ask them personally after their release, hopefully without any spin from the western media aimed at making iran look bad..

ok, I can accept that first picture is taken moments after he was captured, but there are other pictures (that are auto-censured here on ATS, btw) that show nicely what is happening in torture camps at this moment...

as for the prison question, I am in prison and it is called human experience... so there would not be any difference in my mind hence my `projected body`...

but that is another story...

You're ignoring me because I argued all your points? Hahahaha, that's pretty sad. I will continue to reply to your posts just so other people can see.

Well not they are alleged to be in the process of releasing them we shall soon see how well htey were treated. I doubt they will say the same as the propaganda pictures indicate they were.
