the new statement is a pack of lies, you can tell:
We were out in the boats when we were arrested by Iranian forces as we had apparently gone into Iranian waters. I wish we hadn't because then I would be home with you all right now.
I want you all to know that I am well and safe. I am being well looked after, I am fed three meals a day and I'm in constant supply of fluids.
The people are friendly and hospitable, very compassionate and warm.
I have written a letter to the Iranian people to apologise for us entering into their waters.
Representatives of the House of Commons,
The Iranian people are kind, considerate, warm, compassionate and very hospitable.
They have brought me no harm, but I have looked after me well. I have been fed, clothed and well cared for.
Even through our wrongdoing, they have still treated us well and humanely, which I am and always will be eternally grateful.
I ask the representatives of the House of Commons after the government had promised that this type of incident would not happen again why have they let this occur and why has the government not been questioned over this?
Isn't it time for us to start withdrawing our forces from Iraq and let them determine their own future.
To British People
I am writing to you as a British service person who has been sent to Iraq, sacrificed due to the intervening policies of the Bush and Blair governments.
The Iranian people have treated me well and have proved themselves to be caring, compassionate, hospitable and friendly. For this I am thankful.
I believe that for our countries to move forward we need to start withdrawing our forces from Iraq and leave the people of Iraq to start re-building their lives.

well we should know soon if she really meant what she said since Iran said they would release her soon. If they don't hold up to their side of the bargain by not releasing her anytime soon then there is a problem.

Wasn't the Iranian president supposed to come to America just before this happened?
I can't find the thread where this was mentioned.
Was it cancelled? If it was, the timing is very suspect.

UNITED NATIONS (CNN) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has canceled a planned visit to the United Nations, and Tehran's U.N. ambassador, Javad Zarif, on Friday blamed a delay in U.S. visas being issued to the crew of his airplane.
Ahmadinejad wanted to speak to the U.N. Security Council before a vote, scheduled for 3 p.m. ET Saturday, on sanctions against Iran.

**UPDATE**
Iran airs second sailor 'apology'
A second member of the Royal Navy crew captured in the Gulf has apologised for trespassing in Iranian waters, in a broadcast on Iranian television.
He was quoted as saying: "We entered Iranian waters without permission and were arrested by Iranian coastguards."
"I would like to apologize to the Iranian people for that."
For me anything these sailors say, while being at the hands of the Iranian government, carries absolutely no credibility.
Anyway, whoever it is has done well to apologise.
If he really really disagreed with the Iranians and truly supported his "Country" dont you think he would make a point to the Iranians?
Like say sacrifice his life for his country?
No because he knows what our country is doing and it isnt worth risking his own life for.
Its all a set up can you not see?

Mark, in which world do you live in? Don't you know what torture can do to people? You know, you sit behind the computer and go on about how these soldiers in captivity should just sacrifice their lives if they think what the UK government is doing is right? Just the possibility of execution will get most people to concur and elaborate on anything the perpetrator says, military or no. DO you want to deny this? If you don't then merely considering this fact AND that the Iranian government has done these things in the past should get you thinking...
We can debate about this the whole day but the fact remains that the captured sailors are at the hands of the Iranian government which has in the past, in an almost identical situation, tortured.
The same as you.
Yes i know what torture can do,But do these people look like they have been tortured for days on end? Sleep deprived? Bruises everywhere?
Of course not.
The woman sent a letter to her family saying she was ok.
She was allowed to do this, they are feeding them and treating them well.
The British were in the wrong, they were in Iranian seas!
And the British accepted and apologised.
Now it is time for our British Government to accept and apologise, but is this going to happen... I dont think so.
The only thing Iran wants to do is prove that our governments are wrong and evil. And keep out of other countries business.
Dont you understand?
