Psychic Powers Test

A lot has been posted with regard to James Randi and his challenge to anyone who can prove that they have psychic powers. So far no one has claimed the prize. I can't do a controlled test that he would approve of but I would like to offer a challenge of sorts to anyone who is game.


I know that there are some who visit this site that claim to have psychic abilities.

As an informal test. I will give a Way Above to the first person to tell me the name and breed of my recently deceased dog.

Too hard? If you can tell me his name I will still give you the Way Above.

If you can tell me how he died I will also give you my admiration and eat humble pie.

For all you who are inclined to get your panties in a bunch over such a challenge, keep in mind that there is no monetary reward to taint the process or hinder the powers that be. Only knowlege to be shared.

I don't think I've ever met anyone who could send their mind through a computer into your house and then discover that there is no dog.

Sorry. I've never maintained a list of Psychics who visit ATS.

However there are countless so called Psychics, who for the price of a phone call, "Long Distance " mind you with appropriate credit card fees, who will be more than willing to talk to people about dead loved ones, canine or human, the future, the past, and the present and give information they claim to get from some special ability they posses.

So I dont think I am being disingenuous by making the statement that there are some here who claim to have Psychic abilities.

As you can tell, I am skeptical when it comes to this subject, but I have an open mind. Who knows maybe someone will get it right and I will become a true believer.

What got me interested in this was a diferent thread where someone claimed to be able to manipulate a psy wheel.

It was a piece of paper balanced on the point of a pin. He even posted a video of his abilities. I was bored at work so I threw one together and much to my surprise it started spinning, seemingly on its own. I could not detect a breeze from the AC, I made sure I was not breathing on it. I was starting to get a little creeped out.

Then I noticed that I had put it close enough to my coffee warmer for the rising heat to cause it to spin. When I moved it away for the coffee warmer it stopped spinning.

I must admit, I was a little disappointed.

Those are advertisers not members of ATS.
I don't read every single thread on ATS but I've never seen one with a member claiming they can do anything similar to what you are asking.

Psychic ads are bunk anyway.
Do you believe that ads that say you have won an ipod, or the ads on late night TV?

They are guessing.

There has to be a better way of "Psychic Powers Testing" than having a guessing game.

I wonder. Can I U2U the answer to a moderator who will keep it a secret and keep me honest in case someone gets it right?

I just recalled of my daughter when she was 5 playing the pick a number between 1 and 5 and changing her answer when her brother correctly guessed it.

That doesn't debunk anything.
I could say I was blowing on it and it started moving. Then I stopped blowing on it and it didn't move anymore.
Try making it move the way you want in a place where the psiwheel wont be moved by external sources.
Your hands are not as hot as a coffee warmer.
