My brother lives in Las Vegas and just informed me that a plane FULL of FBI Agents has landed at the Airport minutes ago in response to some heretofor unmentioned TERRORIST THREAT on the world famous Las Vegas Strip.

I would imagine they have some fairly SERIOUS/ACCURATE information or they would NOT drag several FBI Agents from their homes on Christmas Day...

I'll update as I hear things...

MERRY CHRISTMAS...

Is there any more news on anything. Last night I was online...reading about all the weird airport closings and threat reports...today theres' nothing. I guess the news media is mainly Christian and therefore home with their families for Christmas. I just had such a feeling last night that something was going to happen...and today...I don't have that feeling. The chatter seems to have dulled...or they've plugged all the sources so we don't know what's happening. Anymore news on Vegas? Wouldn't you expect the people in Rappahannock to be freaking out? What about LA? Any news from LA today? It's just ODDLY quiet...even for Christmas.

I noticed the same thing. I am very surprised. Last night I had a gut instinct something was going to happen today, now nothing. Either nothing is going to happen, and there is no news to report, or this is the calm before the storm so to speak.

It seems that the news are only showing reruns of stuff that happened yesterday. They barley show anything new today.

I remember the summer before 9-11 happened. All that was on TV the whole time before the attack was news about all the shark attacks that were going on at the time. Right now it seems almost like that. It's almost like an erie silence, but maybe I am reading too much into things again. lol.

A suicide bomb has gone off in Isreal, the first since October... Beyond that it appears as though we have FOILED their plans! Wooo Hooo!

When I stop and really think about it it seems pretty unlikely they'll ever catch us with our pants down again...

We have all the technology, money, freedom of movement (that's HUGE), and personell to use against their dastardly attempts and stop them before they can carry them out.

The ONLY things they have are suicidal troops (that's HUGE), the element of surprise (to a MUCH lesser degree than B4 9/11 however) and some crappy materielle mostly second or third hand Soviet junk...

I have a feeling we've seen all we are going to see as far as BIG ATTACKS go. It has become fairly apparent that about all they can muster is a few shoulder launched RPGs and a few homicide bombers...

That's a VERY GOOD THING. I wouldn't think we should necessarily "relax" or anything but I beleive that if they had another "doozie" within their capabilities they would have executed it today.

Logic, might and FREEDOM have won the day.

PEACE...

First, thanks to Springer for that bit of levity.
~~++~~
New message;
It seems that when FBI agents are sent, for whatever reason....that action is noticed with fearful speculations,,,

And this [new] reaction, actually seems odd...
even in view of some heightened internet chatter, on suspected terrorists forums etc...as a important reason to 'send in more troops'

Agents are sent, to potential trouble spots, on any given day (Holiday or not)
BECAUSE...thats what the Agents are trained to do...
EXPECTED TO DO !!

its' probably? because of the past FBI lapses and inactivity and 'their' un-awareness, which provided a window of opportunity for the resulting 9-11 events & Anthrax crisis (1 week later)...which makes 'their' present assertive movements both Provocative and noteworthy !! ??
....that is a sad state of affairs...!

i might say to the media in general....
lets' give the agents room & time to operate,
because, the reporting of security personnel movements, such as this Las Vegas exercise , is both
an exercise of freedom in news reporting AND the undesirable act of warning/informing the adversaries!
its' a 2 edged sword !?!
which needs to be addressed....
** *** ***

i'm just trying not to get swept up in the maelstrom,
how bout ya'll...

Flight Intended to Attack Las Vegas

Some passengers boarding Air France flight from Paris to Los Angeles 'intended to hijack it and crash land in Las Vegas', the WASHINGTON POST is planning to report in Page One leads on Friday, sources tell DRUDGE... officials said they 'remain suspicious about some passengers who did not show up at the airport to claim their seats on the ultimately aborted Flight 68 from Paris to Los Angeles. I live in Vegas...I'm pissing my pants. It's stormy outside, everytime I heard thunder I'd run to the window in case it was an explosion or something. I shouldn't be so paranoid, but I think New Years Eve we'll be the target.

Mama, I dont know what to say because I havent had my city "targeted" in the media. I wish you well and hope you dont let this get to you to much. Its no good to worry about it, your giving in to what the terrorists want. Be safe.

I just read this in the Las Vegas review journal.

www.reviewjournal.com...

I agree with you mamaship I think New Years Eve could be a problem. The news admitted tonight that the terror level threat might have been raised, due to Las Vegas. It's windy and rainy here too. Lots of noise out there. Springer tell Val I'll let her know if I have any of those weird dreams.

Guys, relax. This fear and commotion is exactly what they want. Just chill! Celebrate the holidays, if it happens it will happen, if not it won't. No point getting grey hair over something you have no control over. If you spend all this time worrying and then something does happen, did the worrying really help? You'll be so stressed you won't have a calm, rational mind to deal with an emergency. And Happy Holidays everyone, and happy upcoming New Year, I hope. If there is an attack on par with 9/11, this might create a military state.. a police state. All our rights would be suspended including the constitution and the government gets emergency TOTAL CONTROL over every facet of our lives. I personally look forward to that, knowing it will wake up people who are currently ignorant. I suspect our government is behind all our terrorist attacks anyway, they are the ones who benefit from it aren't they? It's an old-as-time trick to create fake terrorists and cause all the patriotic people to allow you to wage war against anyone you happen to blame it on. You get the country's money, resources like oil, establish strategic military bases there, endless possibilities for profit/gain/power. Yup, terrorism benefits our government. So I wouldn't look any further than our own country when searching for those responsible. But it's just a thought, based on previous lies of our government and evidence of coverups and atrocities they commited.

*edit*: Still, anyone who commits these acts are indeed TERRORISTS, even if they are our own leaders. I just hope people are on alert for deception, and not automatically accept what they are told by the government as to who is responsible.

Terror=fear

thats what they want us to do just this and be very fearfull

but one has to ask, Is this just the fear they have put on us?

or are they realy planning somthing??

Lib I agree with the portion on giving in to what the terrorists want, but then you go off on a rant about government is the one who are doing this and such. Thats just absurd, anyone who uses that viewpoint IMO has no clue about American Political sytem. But then again thats my opinion. And like mine, you are as free to express yours as I am mine.

If a attack does happen on par with nuclear, chemical and biological, I think its common sense to install martial law in certain areas. To reduce rights. Not permanantly, but temporarily. The governments #1 priority is to protect american citizens and if this is a measure they have to use, I am behind it 100%.

Just did a little cross-referencing and ran across this article posted on the 24th:

"Las Vegas Holiday Threat Update"
Link:
www.klas-tv.com...

Excerpt:
"(Dec. 24) -- Homeland security officials are concerned about Las Vegas as a potential terrorist target. And because tourism is such a big part of our city's livelihood -- how are authorities preparing for a possible disaster?

Law enforcement agencies continue to gather information so if a threat to the Valley is uncovered, they can act. Las Vegas relies on the 36-million visitors a year that pass through our hotels and casinos. If you look around on The Strip this Christmas Eve, you will still see a lot of tourists. Tourism experts say that an attack here could devastate this economy."
