Otis Redding

Although the weather was poor, with heavy rain and fog, and despite warnings, the plane took off.[63] Four miles (6.4 km) from their destination at Truax Field in Madison, the pilot radioed for permission to land. Shortly thereafter, the plane crashed into Lake Monona. Bar-Kays member Ben Cauley, the accident's only survivor,[54] was sleeping shortly before the accident. He woke just before impact to see bandmate Phalon Jones look out a window and exclaim, "Oh, no!" Cauley said the last thing he remembered before the crash was unbuckling his seat belt. He then found himself in frigid water, grasping a seat cushion to keep afloat.[56] A non-swimmer, he was unable to rescue the others.[64] The cause of the crash was never determined.[65] James Brown claimed in his autobiography The Godfather of Soul that he had warned Redding not to fly in the plane.

The other victims of the crash were four members of the Bar-Kays—guitarist Jimmy King, tenor saxophonist Phalon Jones, organist Ronnie Caldwell and drummer Carl Cunningham; their valet, Matthew Kelly; and the pilot, Richard Fraser.

This video was apparently recorded 9 December 1967, the day before the plane crash:

The Bar-Kays - Soul Finger

Ghostbusters (song)

When the theme song of Ghostbusters was released, Huey Lewis sued Ray Parker Jr. for plagiarism, stating that Parker's song was too similar to "I Want a New Drug".

Johnny Horton - Sink The Bismarck (1960)

Hello, guys! I like this track a lot, I have to say, it is so cool! I have been listening to it for hours. I want to download it to my PC too in order to listen to it offline. Do you know any tools for downloading audio from YouTube? I will try the one from www.tube2mp3.com... but it would be great if you shared some resources here too, just in case. Thanks in advance, guys! It is a really cool thread here, I have to say. I have found lots of cool tracks for me here

I use Firefox as a browser. In Firefox, I've installed some add-ons for downloading videos. There are several add-ons available for this. Sometimes, I'll have to refresh the page on Youtube for the Youtube video, before it can download the video (I don't know why this is so, but if I refresh a troublesome video, then it can download just fine afterwards). I use to download the videos as .mp4, but there are usually other options available too. Some of the add-ons also works for downloading videos from other sites than Youtube. Hope it helps.

Free - Moonshine (1969)

Tons of Sobs

Free were a new band when they recorded Tons of Sobs, and they were extremely young; none of them were yet twenty and the youngest, bassist Andy Fraser, was just sixteen years old.
