My brother is home from the hospital now. Amazing, ICU one minute, then home the next
I didn’t know until today that they used those heart shocking paddles on him. So once again, he’s lucky to be alive. I guess his wife gave him CPR & mouth to mouth until the paramedics arrived Saturday night. Thanks again for everything guys

Jen

Yeah, I saw this thread kinda late too, but it doesn't hurt to throw another prayer out there for your brother. Hope he's okay, because the thing with brain injuries... especially with the frontal lobe... he'll need a lot of help and support through it. I know from first hand experience, my father recently developed cerebral atrophy. Good luck and keep fighting!

I know he's hungry, but they won't let him eat. He keeps saying he has to go pee...we keep telling him "you're tapped...just go, but he's confused and thinks he's gonna wee on himself.
Poor kid! He also thinks he might be in a Psychiatric facility.

Awww. He sounds adorable. I hope he recovers normally and everything's in peace again. I'm sooo happy he got better.

I hope your brother gets well soon, Jen. Just try to stay calm and remember that most people come out of hospital alive.

Just an update, I’ll try to keep it short…I know I can get pretty chatty sometimes.

My brother is in ICU; and things are looking really good ..Now. He is responding well to family, and the hospital staff at this time. He’s following commands when prompted. They pulled the big tube out of his throat that was breathing for him, which was nice! He was very combative, and they have now untied all of the straps that were restraining him from pulling out the tubes. He’s sleeping a lot, off and on…and has no memory of the whole ordeal. His blood alcohol level was atrocious, and he’s lucky to be alive at all!

I believe in miracles, even if you all think I’m crazier than a sh-t house rat. I saw a miracle today. I saw two grown men that had no love bond between them; tell each other they loved one another, my father and my brother Todd. Talk about sending all of us girls into a complete crying frenzy. I told my momma that maybe something good could come out of this after all. Thank you, thank you, and thank you! For your prayers, the positive thoughts and good vibes/energy. Looks like the panic is over, and everything is going to be alright
What a draining day…

God fills tall orders and does it well. Thank you for your testimony Jen!

for the record, the ban on dancing banana innuendo is 36 hours and 9 minutes. it was 24 but SO's code tinkering has resulted in a longer ban time but rest assured, your post bar will still get bigger in the interim.

Just a gentle admonition here to temper your relief with the realization that your brother Todd is, from your relation of the circumstances of and surrounding his injury, far from out of the woods yet, so to speak.

There are, imo, major underlying issues behind this incident that must be addressed for the future health and safety of Todd, his loved ones, those who love him, and those he comes in contact with.

This was a wake up call. It is also the perfect opportunity for Todd to begin to make the adjustments in his life that are needed to avoid another mishap, one of possibly even greater magnitude.

Whatever the issues are, and however they may be resolved, I will remain in prayer that, just as God delivered Todd from this injury, and used the shock and trauma to re-open the door of love and communication between a father and his son, He, in his everlasting love and mercy, will continue the work that was begun in those moments.

What the world intended for evil, the Lord will turn to good.

I just saw this thread, I'm glad your brother is OK. I just lost a brother in November, drive them to distraction with sisterly details, while you can.

Nice to hear the dad and son story too.

What happened, was it an accident? I'll say a prayer for your brother.

Once Padre Pio asked a friend to say a prayer for him. The priest said that he would, but upon returning admitted he had forgotten.
Padre Pio said, that's OK, the Lord accepted your intent on the stairs.
