I find it so interesting that we're not hearing anything about the ongoing protests that are happeneing around the country. Vietnam took like 7 years of protests to end and these people show no signs of letting up. I think it's heartening to see so many people willing to get up off their butts and brave cold winter weather to speak out and exercise their rights.

Washington DC Protest

Smaller protests were held in other U.S. cities, stretching to Tuesday's four-year anniversary of the Iraq invasion. In Los Angeles, Vietnam veteran Ed Ellis, 59, hoped the demonstrations would be the "tipping point" against a war that has killed more than 3,200 U.S. troops and engulfed Iraq in a deadly cycle of violence.
...
Overseas, tens of thousands marched in Madrid as Spaniards called not only for the U.S. to get out of Iraq but to close the prison for terrorist suspects at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. Smaller protests were staged in Greece and Turkey.
...
Police no longer give official estimates but said privately that perhaps 10,000 to 20,000 anti-war demonstrators marched

It is odd you almost never hear about protests.

Thanks for bringing this to mine, and everyone elses attention.

I know there was a protest in Seattle (closest big city to me at 25miles
south) over the Iraq war, and I only know that because I know some-
one who is very active in that kind of stuff.

I hope a lot of people will join.

One of the things bugging my mind --being a left over from the Nam era-- is why so few people turn up when it's literally the only thing they can do to show their dis contempt with present politics of admin.

A disputed fact of recent American history (nontheless one I believe) was the marches stopped the war.

But where do you today see 400.000 protesters on the streets of NY ...or 100.000 at the Lincon Memorial?

And these are the official estimates, unofficial 2-5 times higher.

People got too much to lose nowadays. I'm afraid they might feel.
Surveillance so sophisticated it can make anyone paranoid.
