I thought this would be a fun topic to start and discuss. Here is my top ten greatest RPG's of all time.

1) Final Fantasy VII - (PSX, PC)
2) The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind/Tribunal/Bloodmoon - (PC, XBOX)
3) Chrono Trigger - (SNES)
4) The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - (SNES)
5) Final Fantasy VIII - (PSX, PC)
6) Final Fantasy Tactics - (PSX)
7) Secret of Mana - (SNES)
8) Final Fantasy VI - (SNES, PSX)
9) Parasite EVE I & II - (PSX)
10) Suikoden - (PSX)

I dont really like RPGs soo ill only list my favorites...The ZORK series...All the original Text Based Adventures..Zork the Grand Inquisitor...Nemesis...All Great.

That game is good. But not top ten material.

1 of my personal fav is Xenogears not to be confused with Xenosaga witch was more movie than game. some other favs are FF2 yes 2, and every other FF game, Dragon Warrior 1 is what started it all 4 me RPG's have consumed my life ever since.

and not even one mention of Fallout 1 or 2

Good games. But I was never a big fan of the series.

Yup, I used to LOVE RPG's when they weren't 80% just showing you movies. I tried to play the last Final Fantasy and wanted to kill myself.

Ocelot, any favorite Strategy games? Isn't that what you call Age of Empires, etc? I have to say, I've never found one better than STRONGHOLD CRUSADER. I can't get enough.

For Strategy games:

1) The Warcraft Series
2) The Age of Empires Series
3) The C&C Series
4) Commandos

I know theres a couple more I like but these are the ones that come to mind.

All the Warcraft games seem to easy to me (one player mode)....and I just got Age of Empires and it seems just like Warcraft.

I started with the Crusader series and keep looking for games as complicated and can't find any. But I've never tried online versus...that might be better.

But Stronghold Crusader is great for one player, tedius strategy play. You have to build your own castle brick by brick, and tearing down your oppenent is the same way. I mean stuff doesn't just catch on fire (like in Age) becasue you hit it. You have water boys, etc. too. It's more micro cosm building. The farmers are self sustaining too. No need to reorder to build every harvest. And resouces don't run out. Makes for nice huge wars.

And the computer is a bastard. I like it. I'm stuck around campaign 45 out of 50. Any SC players on here?

Also trying to play Total Medieval War. It's all war, no building, from what I can tell. Kind of like Risk or something.
