How about that some good teams were left out of the NCAA tournament and placed into the NIT because the NCAA owns the NIT and wanted some marque names in that tournament too i.e Syracuse, Connecticut, and etc

It might have more to do with their records this year than anything else.

there were a large number of good teams left out this year, but remember there were 104 teams with 20 wins or more this season and you can't fit 104 teams in a field of 64. either there were alot of really good teams or there were alot of soft schedules this year.

Bucknell got screwed. I'm in a cabin with some friends watching the first round games, and the resident Bucknell employee is TO'd. They should have at least been invited to the NIT
