That was clearly not a controlled demolition. You can tell because one side lagged behind the rest of the collapse. Some structural failure must
have initiated the "progressive collapse", and then pulled the rest down with it because it just couldn't take the lateral load anymore.
The explosions you hear are probably exploding transformers and fire extinguishers, from sparks from the fireworks. Has anyone ever had a firecracker
go off in their hand? If you have then you'd know how easily they can explode electrical transformers.
Plus the building was clearly
fully involved in fire because you can see smoke. A complete collapse is only a matter of time once you have
smoking. The building was probably not built up to code anyway, or used a faulty design that made it prone to such a collapse.
Oh, and was it made of steel? Those things collapse like houses of cards anyway. Somebody should start welding and bolting those things together
better or something.
