Butt...I have not read any Gogol or Lovecraft. I wanna read Lovecraft. Apparently when that Cthulu story came out it actually drove some people insane and they had to like, be admitted into a psyche ward temporarilly.

I would state Montague Summers or Burroughs....HP Lovecraft was lovely but doesn't make you feel wrong

I'm not sure if there are that many authors whose books are all deranged or disturbing.

But there are many disturbing and deranged books out there.
