This is not a conspiracy but more or less a question/thought....(sorry if it is in the wrong thread)...I heard in church today that we are all supposed to be made in the image of god....what if we had a picture of everyone on earth sent to one place and had a composite of what all of us would look like together..GOD!!! I know there is more babies born every minute but a 6 billion person composite sketch... ...I realize this is a dumb idea but I think it would be fun

Just reminded me of a song by Joan Osbourne.
"What if God was one of us..."

would a being of supposed omnipotence, omnipresence, omnibenevolence, and omniscience that violates causality even reflect light?

maybe I think it would be cool to try and come up with an image that "reflected" god...

To the original poster, Genesis 1:26 says "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness." Now, God is a spiritual entity that can cross paths between the spiritual world and the physical world. God has no use for a physical body, so when Genesis says "image" and "likeness", I believe that it is referring to a psychological, spiritual, and emotional similarity, and not a physical similarity. Thus, our physical appearance has nothing to do with what God is like.

Now, God did eventually have a need for a physical body. He manifested himself in the form of Jesus of Nazareth. The reason why he needed a physical body was to teach people on Earth and guide them back to the right path. But the MAIN reason that God needed a physical form was to sacrifice himself in order to redeem mankind for their sin.

What exactly do you mean by "violating causality"?

the typical answer of "what is the cause of god?" is "god is the cause of god's self" casua sui
god becomes the being that has no cause, therefore violating causality

What does God look like....

Go look in the mirror right now.

God IS one of us...now.

I think if "God" exists it would either be an alien lifeform or lifeforms,or some sort of pure energy being.Really....I don't think if there is a god "He" would look like some average Joe.There are some things in Sitchin's books about God(s) making man in "Their" image, meaning the Anunnaki.Honesty,I think until we know more about aliens, the space our planet occupies, our own origins, and achieve evolved spirituality there is just no way of knowing.

We must first learn of ourselves (familiar) before we can expect to learn about aliens (unfamiliar).

NEVERTHELESS i KNOW that God is one of us...all of us...to be human is not the same as being mortal. God is immortal and realizes it. God is just as human as the rest of us.

That is how God understands us in every way. God is one of us.

The energy form of God is

G ood
O rderly
D irection

If we make our inner selves orderly...then we see the order all around us...and then God is revealed to us in full.

Personally to me, the god I think you are referring to would look like a wise old man with a long flowing white beard and hair.

Who is the 'you' you are referring to?
I know no wise old man with long flowing white beard and hair.

The guys from ZZTop are almost fitting that description...not quite white enough in the color. Wise? I don't know? They've been to prison so surely they have learned much the hard way!

The God I KNOW is just like you and me.

Sorry I should have expressed myself better queenannie38, and I think I was a bit thrown out by Ashley_T's comment.

What I meant was, I guess Uisge Baugh you mean the Christian god or Jewish god, if you and I were made in gods image to me that would be a wise old man with a long flowing white beard and hair.

The wise old man I refer to would be like the god of the Creation of Adam by Michelangelo on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

There could be many gods.

I think the original creator didn't really have a physical form.

It's unfortunate that the only religious topics are "Conspiracies in Religions," and "Origins & Creationism Conspiracy." After all, there can be conspiracies "against" religions, and not just "within."

I may be old fashioned but i think everything around us is a spark of God, including ourselves.

We are quick to personify the energy that drives this existence, but....it is nothing but that...an energy.....

One energy that we are all a part of...

Personally, I see God in everything that exists...even the negative stuff....

Just look in the mirror.

And the answer lies within all of us.

The saying goes, "God created man in his own image", however I feel this refers to the spiritual energy of man and not the exact mirror image. I believe that god is the total sum of all energy in the universe, from the rolling rock to the exploding star. Omnipresent and lacking form per see.
