Decentralized? Think Again.

A number of media reports that I've seen since we entered "Orange" alert seem rather skeptical at the prospect that al-Qaeda could plot an attack on par with 9/11, citing the increasingly decentralized nature of the network since the events of Operation Enduring Freedom. What these reports frequently miss, however, is the fact that within the course of the last year or so al-Qaeda has been successfully relocated itself to a new HQ - the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Now thats an interesting little snippet, i think i'll be looking into this in further detail.

I new story on CNN.com
Linkage

The whole threat level thing suddenly drops off the news radar yesterday afternoon and then this comes in on CNN. Though it is not the lead story on the page I think we are about to see more panic.

This line from the article really stand out to me:terrorists may again be planning to attack the homeland -- possibly using weapons of mass destruction, senior officials fear.

I think this is first time this has been mentioned during THIS particular scare.
Tie this in with the wacko from Yahoo groups and the Second letter to the president and this has me worried again!

These damn terrorist piss me off. Do they think that they are more powerful then the US people? If the terrorist attack the USA, what makes you think average people from the US will not go over there and put a boot in there A$$! I think we have better/smarter people and orginized militias in the US that could give ALQ a run for there camels.

Anyone have any ideas how these recent rumors factor into the whole scenario? Mexican Troops Fire on U.S. Border Watchers Jon E. Dougherty, NewsMax.com Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003 An official with a civilian border group says a squad of Mexican soldiers opened fire on a position only moments after it was vacated by group volunteers patrolling private property near Douglas, Ariz. Jack Foote, national spokesman for property protection group Ranch Rescue, told NewsMax a reconnaissance squad of his volunteers spotted two armed Mexican soldiers wearing green combat fatigues and Kevlar helmets on U.S. soil adjacent to property the group was asked to protect. These rumors of trouble on the Mexican boarder have been dismissed as disinformation by some, and pointed-to as a sign of a coordinated effort by others. Has anyone else been keeping up on this aspect of current rumors, and if so, any idea on how it relates to the terrorism "chatter"?

Go over where exactly? If you know that I'm sure you're government would be very please to told this vital bit on info. Invading Afganistan hasn't stopped them, invading Iraq hasn't stopped them. What next Iran, Syria? Invading these countries will only serve to make the terrorist recruiting much easyer.

ALQ seems to be quite general with who they attack (9/11 inocent people) Why dosent ALQ think we could also be quite general in who we bring terror. Who? Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia why not?

Lookingaround and Britman if you 2 want to discuss the overall adgenda of who when where the next invasion will occur that is fine but please don't clutter up this already huge thread with posts that are of no relation to the topic.
Thank you for your courteousy.

But you already do this, how many innocent lives where lost in Iraq? Sure if it make you feel better go ahead and kill more innocent people just because some of them might be a terrorist. But this will not solve a dam thing.

Its all quiet on the western front today, i'm expecting the paranoia to be ramped up around 5pm just to let us know we're still on orange, its interesting to note that foxnews is still carrying the TERROR Alert HIGH banner on its screen constantly, a clue to the psyche of the bush administration lies in how fox reports the story, there is a system of command in foxnews that is dictated every morning by their news chief, he's a rampant bush supporter, this memo is the word of god to the reporters, people have been fired for not reading it. So, whatever fox is covering heavily it has been dictated by a fanatical bush supporter who is known to recieve plenty of leaks.

Here we go again with the Muslim evacuations

Muslims warned
to leave U.S. cities
Al-Qaida websites claim New York, Washington, Los Angeles are targets

 2003 WorldNetDaily.com

Known al-Qaida affiliated websites are warning Muslims to leave New York, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles ahead of massive attacks it claims have been planned for those cities.

The statements, posted on sites such as Al-Lewa Arabic for "The Banner" are part of the alarming increase in "chatter" among terrorist operatives in recent weeks cited by Homeland Security officials for raising the terror threat level to high, or orange, reports the New York Post.

Officials told the paper the CIA, FBI and National Security Agency consider the messages "pieces of the overall puzzle."

Counterterrorism experts uncovered and translated statements boasting of an impending wave of terror that started Nov. 15 after the suicide bombings in Istanbul, Turkey.

"The next al-Qaida attacks will be most violent and will target the U.S.," read one claim translated by Rita Katz, director of the SITE Institute.

"Our Muslim brothers in America, this is our final warning. We ask you, as fast as you can, to leave the following cities immediately: Washington, D.C., New York City, Los Angeles," read a second message posted Thursday by a group calling itself the Islamic Bayan Movement.

Just found this on emergency.com's homepage. A possibility of chemical attacks, hrmm, i still maintain that this attack will be biological or chemical rather than a jet, the incubation period on certain virii would ensure us having no knowledge until many were infected.

Reprise: Backgrounder on Vulnerability to Attack (Chemical)

Voluntary Initiatives Are Under Way at Chemical Facilities but the Extent of
Security Preparedness Is Unknown
Highlights of GAO-03-439, a report to Congressional Requesters

Chemical facilities may be attractive targets for terrorists intent on causing economic harm and loss of life. Many facilities exist in populated areas where a chemical release could threaten thousands. EPA reports that 123 chemical facilities located throughout the nation have toxic worst-case scenarios where more than a million people in the surrounding area could be at risk of exposure to a cloud of toxic gas if an intentional or unintentional release were to occur. To date (March 2003), no one has comprehensively assessed the security of chemical...

Okay, get a load of this article:

www.msnbc.msn.com...

Here's a little jewel from it:

The officials said U.S. intelligence agencies had gathered detailed information about the plan, in which they said al-Qaida operatives would hijack foreign airliners and fly them into targets in the United States. In some instances, the intelligence is so detailed as to include specific flight numbers, they said.

This is why this one feels different...they really have found something this time.

Thought this was kinds funny
Sorry, thought I needed to lighten things up a little.

Wonder if N.O.R.A.D. will be tracking santa this year.
The terrorists didn't think to use Santa's Sleigh.
One terrorist could hit targets in lightning fast time.
Wonder if they would shoot him down if he was hijacked?

NIN website has been updated. I find the most interesting thing to be the "investigative note":

Investigative Note: There is an unusual number of personnel present at the Pentagon as of 1730 EST 24 December 2003, according to a Washington source. This source stated that the number of personnel on duty is unusual, even for the heightened alert. "I was on-site every time they raised (and lowered) the alert level, and I have not seen it like this before."

Well... I think I may have officially been overreacting about something happening today. Everything seems pretty quiet today. Of course maybe that is the silence before the storm. We will see. It seems that a lot of terrorist related news items from yesterday were getting messed up. So either we knocked their plans off course, or it was all a big diversion so they could get us to concentrate forces in other areas while they prepared for something somewhere else. Who knows, but I will be watching out to see if anything happens.

I live in a small town where there are only local police patroling. Yesterday night when i went outside i noticed that there were a lot of state troopers patroling around the city. I didn't think they would put more security for a little town like mine. I guess it shows that security is beefed up everywhere.

When they give you lemons (yellow)
....you make lemonade

When they give you orange (orange)
....you make orangeade

~~so i bought gold during the yellow alert phase

~~then i sell the shopping mall REITs
~and sell the chemical corp stocks, in the orange alert phase...

Then i await the cherry RED alert phase

with my $ & Euros & my meager wealth in Gold
~zz~

i'm afraid the comming currency/debt/banking crisis,
is beingplayed with the terrorists (unbeknownst to us)
playing at the same 'high-stakes poker table'- with us...
