Spirits and Smells

My husband was in the hospital with cancer, I came home and was sitting on my couch watching TV, when the smell of roses was all around me. I had no clue of what it was, but loved it and asking myself "What is that". Two days later, my husband died at 41. I was and am devastated. The day after he died I had company and all around was the same smell and everyone around me could smell and taste it was crazy, especially because I did not know what that meant at the time. So anyone who knew of says it was warning first from someone and then him letting me know he is ok.

NO! I don't believe that spirits communicate LONG TERM. About half the people on this earth believe in REINCARNATION and they do not smell their dead loved ones who drop by for a pointless visit out of bordom or something because they know they are living somewhere else to continue learning things. So, it's probably in your mind, unless they passed recently and are not in another body yet. (If you don't believe in reincarnation I'm not sure what you think we are doing here in the school of life, especially with so many educational slackers and TV watchers.)

But as far as smelling PRE-DEATH, yes I can. Just like some dogs know when their owners are going to have a seizure, or dolphins can pick up on the part of a human body that needs healing or the animals in the Asian Tsunami all ran to high ground before it hit. For me it smells SOUR and maybe a bit like wine or something but not like body odor or obvious, repulsive rotting meat. My mother smells like that now, but no one else seems to be noticing or are too polite to say anything. She is not that old, wears expensive perfume and is very clean, so it is not lack of hygene. It fills her bedroom permenantly now and wherever she is briefly as well. So, only time will tell...

When ever I sleep over my aunts house weird things happen. The last time we slept there My son and I both woke up at around 2 am because something fell off the night stand. Then I started smelling this awful smell I thought my son had a dirty diaper, but it wasn't him. I searched the entire room, even looked on the bottom of all the shoes trying to figure out where this smell was coming from. I never found it, but I did notice that it just disappeared.. One minute it was super strong, then next it was gone.. Not even a trace of the smell...Like it never even happened. So, I believe spirits have something to do with smells. I have to stay over that house again in 2 weeks and I am dreading it like you would not believe.. Wish me luck

I've had experience with this also...

My Grandad when alive used to have a scent that was unpleasant and very distinctive.
As it happened, for the next couple of years after his passing and usually in the darkest of moments I would receive what was a wafting of that exact smell. It never lingered, just a brief occurrence ...
I've always believed that this was his way of letting me know he was there.
The feelings behind such an experience also give validation to the encounter.

my mother passed over in 2013 at 95 - my brother and family stayed over from alberta until the celebration of life was over , it wasnt until a few months later - that my girlfriend and i would go for a smoke outside - while there ,we would get a strong smell of ROSES - like in a 4 x 8 area - we would walk to each side of the house and no smell . this occurred over 3 dozen times - once it was so strong -she could smell it in her car when pulling in the driveway , i moved some 30 miles away since then , and now its back at our new place - I REALLY FEEL BLESS - i know its not maybe her - but a guardian angel of my mother - just felt like sharing this to others
