spirit of loved one contacting me?

Tuesday night i had several private calls on my cell phone. i answered the phone each time and i wouldn't hear anyone on the other end. I eventually got a text message from a private number that said 911911911911911...
i didn't think anything of it because i thought someone was just messing with me.
well this morning I got a phone call from the police telling me to come to my grandpa's house as soon as possible. My grandpa raised me and we were very very close. Well i found that he died in his sleep... and we are pretty sure it was tuesday night.
do you think the phone calls and text message meant anything or just someone messing with me?
its jsut a really wierd coincidence.
