i called it that just cos i wanted to find out something.... i was recently reading one of the forums and someone said something about how most conspiracy theorists are white, male and youngish. obviously no on has to answer, but just out of interest, what category do you fit into? (im just interested, and im not compiling data for anything other than my own brain- and its late and im still confused, and im tired of all the arguing...).

to start it off..... i'm white and youngish, but im female (maybe that will explain why im asking, and why i also ask other stupid questions and make stupid comments...).

just wondering...

i apologise for the stupidity of this question and i will go back to my world of pink and fluffy things.

You're funny. Wonder where you read that?
Youngish white male here.
Middle class or at least steady internet access also helps of course.
As does a lack of social life and/or demanding job.
I think this is an interesting subject. Any one else?

thanks! i think its interesting... lots of people have chosen not to reply though, i also wonder if this will somehow escalate into another debate, like the other one i started (it was just a question..... *hides*).

somehow i feel like i've just "come out".

I'm Caucasian , Male, but I haven't been born yet. You think I'm kidding, don't you? That's why I make it a rule never discuss my age. Wait... unborn might be considered youngish.

Im white, young and male. maybe its just stereotypical that this catagory of ppl indulge in conspiracies theories, or maybe older people, black ppl etc dont give a damn about it because they have other issues closer to reality to worry about. A majority of older people have families and more work, a majority of black ppl have poverty, racial descrimination etc. we young white folk have less responsibities and worries in the general speaking of it, so we have more time to become interested in conspiracies.

Let's call young young enough to know how to use a computer. We'll just narrow it down to the CTers who can sound off here. Basically male and caucasian, I flippantly guessed the proportion was like 90% at one point. So far then, it looks like five out of six fit the profile. That's 83%.

Interesting... Thanks for puttin' this up, Purplecoral! It feels like a diversion but it's actually pretty telling. Good insights, justcause. I'm guessing it's something like that.

It's like when I joined a "dating" site and found ten men per woman almost across the board in every city I sampled. Some spots in Scotland were 20:1. It's a crisis guys! How are we gonna breed little truthers at this rate? I guess we could marry outside the clan but then you have culture clash issues...

Ummmmm,

White male here for sure, but probably closer to undead than unborn.

Please feel free to pigeon hole me as you see fit.

86%. I thought I'd be more off. Come on minorities and womens and transgenders! Prove me a little bit more wrong!

See pic for reference.
I guess i'm white too.

I imagine most people on these sites to be around 27-35 actually.

white, 33, male

Your questions are valid.

Something else that I've noticed is that boomers don't have much of an interest in subjects mentioned on this site. My random surveys at work tell me that they would much rather save for their retirement fund and property investments than spend any brain time on the subject matter of UFO's and Aliens. I rarely engage anyone over 50 in these conversations. Most of them are too far invested in the system to break out of it and post on here.

I hope I'm wrong.

Retirement funds and investments??
god...i wish...

I think the age groups are around 30-40 or so because that may be around the time that some people start thinking 'why' abit more.
Younger people may be here because they think it's cool. But they certainly won't be able to contribute much.
Hell even I don't, i'm too lazy. But hopefully someday i'll stumble across something worth mentioning.

Hi All,

36 yr old, black female here! (Of course in my life, I am always used to being the "odd" one... showing up in the strangest places.
) I wonder how many other ATS'ers will respond to this thread??

I never really wondered what everyone looked like, but I guess that is a natural curiosity. Here is a link to a thread on BTS where members post pics of themselves, in case anyone is curious. A lot of people have posted thier pics there.
Check them out out HERE . (Im in there somewhere!

White, 19, male, from London baby OH YEH

i think the stereotypical classification happens because alot of people who fit into this catergory, like myself, are young yet very intelligent people looking for answers in a world where everything seems to be going wrong for some unknown reason.

I didn't believe in fate or mystery before i looked at conspiracies, i always knew there was an answer to every question/problem..

so naturally when 9/11 happened, it started me on a trail of unanswered questions, which has led me to completely change who i am, as i now understand what everything is about.

So is it safe to assume that your username is a pun on a certain 'pill' you may have swallowed?
