Just so you know, I'm lazy tonight.
So I'm asking this without reading the whole thread.
Can we flag our own threads?
Is that taboo?

Yes you can and it's not taboo, but I'd only do it if I think that it is worthy, and if I'm writing the thread then I must do!
But alas, I don't think that most of my threads are worthy of a flag so I don't always bother. I'll let others decide

It's fine though wu kung

I think you can see importance of a thread looking at views and posts. Flags should increase automatically based on views and posts.

If the whole idea of flagging is to promote what is important to each member, I would hope that flagging your own thread wouldn't be considered to be "Poor form".

You are a member, and as such, I would think that your vote on it should count just as much as any other.

Flagging is a good thing. In different corners of the world sometimes things go unnoticed. This will be a great way to leave no stone unturned.

Grettings to all! I have enjoded reading all of the posts here, and I have been following almost from the start. It is refreshing to know that there is others like me who have been called. I have been searching for the truth for a long time and my search has led me to Mr. Armstong, then to RW. I have read his and Mr. Armstrongs books, articles; listened to sermons; etc. RW has made alot of points that have opened my understanding of wht God has created man. While I can see all the events unfolding in the world, most of my peers are blind and too narrow in their thinking, just like ants, too busy to look at the big picture.

I do have reservations about RW and have not accepted him yet as the one of the end-time witness simply because: 1. God said that he will send two witnesses and they will be preaching for 3-1/2 years, together. RW has been doing it since 2006 when he stated in his book that he was the end time witness. To me, this is not what God said. God didn't say that one will be the spokesman and the other will be sidekick.

I will follow closly as the days are short to fullfillment. I do believe that the sabbath is on Saturday, and that the Ten Commandments are the laws that we need to observe, along with all of the other holy days.

No one believes me when I tell them about the truth, I even had a heated debate with the priest at my old church (Orthdox) about some of the things RW said to ask them and see their responce, he was rihgt on the money. Now I get looks as the mental guy
. No one said that it was going to be easy caring this burden, but I had a calling and an urge to find the truth, now I must carry the burden.

I look forward to reading and hopefully responding to your comments, once I figure this site out .

There's got to be a starting point for the Flagging system to start, seriously look whats happen here at the time of this post there is 15pages and 86 flages.
The first 4pages people are Flagging it,there was no vids/pics and people are saying good post I flag for you? why there's no facts just an Question.

IS THERE ANY ONE OUT THERE THAT HAPPENS TO BE RECORDING THE CURRENT LIVE NASA TV please let me know!!.

for members to use the Flagging system as a gauge I think it has to be more reliable.

So. let me see if I got this straight; if the Neo-con government sends out a thousand people to flag totally incomprehensible posts without any importance; they get seen as good and interesting threads?
Once again the importance of items will be gauged by the NUMBER of people who like/flag it?
Havent you noticed that its never the largest groups who know the best? That changes have always been made by the underrepresented; the people who do not follow mainstream opinion? Like this, we have effectively brought democracy into the truth. Which means that we can now ELECT what is the truth. This is of course TOTALLY WRONG!!! Truth is truth, no matter what the majority dictates, public opinion can always be altered by propaganda, and thus the quality of your site can be diminished by the amount of flags. It just depends how readily people are prepared to accept REAL truth.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isnt this system the reason that Hollywood never produces quality entertainment but quantity entertainment. (if there is such a thing as quality ENTERTAINMENT)
Giving the public what they want, as opposed to what they NEED, is a device used by the commercialist corporate neo-cons to create even larger profits.
Hmm, sounds like a hostile takeover of a site that should be giving INFORMATION in stead of airing POPULAR OPINION.

But correct me if you think me is wrong here...

most obviously this post is in the wrong thread; and I would say on the wrong site but that might be just my stupidity.

I think it's a good idea.

And what about negative flags, to mark those threads that are just garbage? I know it's harder to control but it could be a good thing too.

As much as I love this website I have to agree, that a lot of posts are attention seekers and detract from the serious posts.

Some forums I've seen you're able to click a "+" if you like a post or "-" if you don't, or if it doesn't apply and it sort of lets the community edit everything.

Just a thought.

and sometimes all the rules and pc stuff make it just a little bit on the creepy side of life. I haven't posted in a while because computer broke, and so much crap was being "highlighted posts"... But I have really noticed as the years go on, (take a good look at the creepy butt ads they run) that this site is changing into something moving towards the "controlled" side of life. Hey, If this is what the "owners" want, more power towards them, but please, be honest about turning into a main stream PC Only Website. Is this for people who think outside the box or in the "new improved obama box'?

And, If I had the guts to write it, which, believe me I have let a lot go bye thinking someone would hopefully say something...there are many others like me, who think like me yet will not make the effort. Look it up, there are stats among stats to prove this, I learned this long ago working in a shop, that One complaint is really worth a lot more than you think because most people will just say the hell with it and move on. I think at the time I learned this (early 80's) I actually complaint was worth a hell of a lot of people.

Just my 2 cents. But a lot of times it feels like the 1984 agenda is really here. Please think about setting an example and not being a part of that. Please.

so i used to be able to easily find threads i had flagged by going to my profile and on the right side there was a list of threads i had flagged. it is no longer there, and it is next to impossible for me to find all the threads i had flagged to keep up with as they progressed. Where can I find threads I have Flagged???

this is frustrating.

My experience too. I don't see what I've flagged myself.

This was a great idea the management installed to separate the more interesting threads from the humdrum.

But subject to abuse or just sensationalism, "My granny runs a brothel for aliens" will be multi-flagged over "Is fresh water the oil of the 21st Century"

Teenagers and college kids seem to run the show here now, if the starring flagging system is any indication.

Good point

How do you access your flagged threads?

Does anyone know?
