This looks to me like it's from a documentary made some years ago (Channel 4, I think) in which a group of guys constructed a remote-control 'flying saucer'.

That's exactly what I thought as well. Good documentary that, wish I could remember what it was called.

Note to self: read whole thread before posting...

Who proved the Nanjing, China UFO to be a hoax? Oh sure, I know how the story goes. It looks too good to be real therefore it must be CGI. Anybody can claim CGI. Has anybody ever proven it was used? Never.

Those who claim CGI will soil their pants when the day finally comes. Those are the ones who won't be able to deal with the reality of it.

Would you care to share some proof of the R/C toys that you have seen to make that comparison ?.

The Chinese one is definitely faked. In the Chinese one you can tell where they went from filming something in the sky to using a computer generated image. It looks like they started with an actual image of something fuzzy in the sky, but at the end it gets super sharp and in focus. There is no doubt at all it is fake. I do not know about the UK one though.

Dude, read the thread. It's from the Channel 4 documentary A Very British UFO Hoax. I can be completely secure in this judgment as its one television program actually bothered to sit down and watch. Quite entertaining actually.

I think it's absolutely pathetic that this footage has been shown on a news network as actual "UFO" footage. Don't these idiots do any research at all?

Excellent documentary about how you can fool some of the people some of the time.

Begs the question though why there is no clear video or still images of UFO's in general?

I guess you don't know anything about how auto focus works on camcorders then. Or how an object can move into the field of focus.

Would you believe if an alien came up and bit your nose off? No, you'd probably blame it on CGI

I think the news item shown here was a genuine report that came out before the hoax was owned up to.

Thanks. If it were not for your heads up I would have bought it as authentic. Have to admit it sure looks real.

I find it hard to believe that a remote control UFO has been prototyped. If anyone has any links please provide. If this was a remote control then these guys have engineered a masterpiece.

Here we are trying to get the truth about UFOs and these guys have to muddy up the view? If they flew it over my house I would definately have to shoot it down with a shotgun.

After watching the 2nd one I made up my mind, I will have to see one in person, that sure looked real and imagine what a good engineer could do with a model.

Me thinks on line videos will make everyone skeptical now.

There are 1000000000000000000000's of "clear video or still images" the real question should be have you bothered to look ?.

Here is a great start

As you will have seen from our news pages – posted in the early hours of 17 August, the morning after the skywatch – a certain amount of excitement gripped numerous people who had been at Avebury on skywatch night of 16 August - thanks to a sighting of a 'flying saucer'.

OK, so what was the background to this attempted hoax?

The story goes back several months, and two programmes commissioned by Channel 4, and produced by Chrysalis Television. Back in June APRA was contacted by Chris Harries of Chrysalis, who was then seeking people who would be willing to be interviewed for a planned documentary - tentatively entitled The Believers - on the subject of witnesses who had their whole idea of UFOs/aliens changed by their first sighting – I gave Chris’s contact details to several people who I thought might be interested, but curiously none of these proposed interviews came to fruition. At the time, Chris mentioned a second documentary that was also being planned, but he declined to give details – now we know why…

Source.

Yes, that was an extremely good tape. Does make me sad it was a hoax.. =\ I wish we could catch more on film with the great cameras we have now-a-days!!!

I am looking so forward to seeing what people catch on film!

Has that oldschool Battlestar Gallactica light running around a nerf football.

I'm just not buying that, unless it lands on the whitehouse it was moving so slow.

Why was there only 11 seconds either.
