Have you ever thought about freezing people to cure AIDS?

Lowering the body temp. to get rid of AIDS?
I remember hearing that people can't get AIDS from a mosquito that bit a AIDS infected person and then you because the body Temperature of the Mosquito is too low for the AIDS virus to servive the travel between two people no matter how close it is between the two.thats how fragile the AIDS virus is.

So couldnt you do some sort of cryogenic procedure to lower the body temperature just low and long enough to kill the AIDS, and then revive the person?

Nope, AIDS came before either one of those. I don't quite understand how you think AIDS is fashionable or a fashion. Yeah there are those who get it by being reckless but what about those who never had a choice? Blood recipients, children born with it. First responders who contract it through trying to save someones life, Cops and fellow Corrections Officers who contract it because some sicko spits bloody saliva in their eye, etc.

I will not get aids as I am smart and i dont want to die so i would not make wrong life style choices.

If people in Africa can buy billions of guns to shoot each other then they can buy themselves an education and the basic amenities required for civilized existance.

I don't think you could kill the virus that way without killing the person too.

However, even if you could kill the virus that was in the blood, that wouldn't scrape the genetic code out of the infected T-cells. The problem is, HIV is a retrovirus. It inserts its code into the T-cells' DNA. At that point, the virus is "gone" until the rewritten cell DNA gets the cue to activate that section that now programs for viral production.

In order to effect a 'cure', you'd have to not only eliminate all the virus in the body, but you'd have to kill all the infected T-cells, if you could find them. You'd either have to introduce some sort of enzyme that could scan the DNA for the viral code and excise it, or maybe you could trigger all the infected ones off at once while you were killing the viruses in the blood. At any rate, any 'cure' will have to address latent HIV hiding in the DNA of cells as well as all the viruses in the blood at that time.

People here are WAY off - Both on topic, and what AIDS is.

AIDS is "Acquired Immune Deficiency Disease". It is a SYMPTOMATIC disease, not a disease that can jump from person to person! AIDS is caused by HIV, a virus, while AIDS in it self is just a SYNDROME based on the fact that your immunesystem is getting destroyed due to a loss of helper-T white bloodcells (CD4 leukocytes) caused by the HIV-infection.

And since HIV is a virus, you won't be able to destroy it, since you would basically kill yourself doing it, because it is in you cells.

Thats 42 million that are eventually going to die and spread it to their partners, and or children. Thats quite a lot, even when compared to malaria, which is curable and easier to prevent.

As for the original topic, I do no think that people could get to cold enough temperatures to kill the virus without killing themselves. Perhaps the real reason the mosquito isn't effected is because of its different immune systems. They are able to carry malaria without trouble, but we suffer from it. Different disease effect different animals differently(wow thats a little repetitious).

I'm a very smart person. And I have HIV. I know lots of other very smart people who have HIV. It doesn't pick & choose and your judgment of people is why women in countries like Africa and Japan, as well as women in certain segments of the American population can't go to their families for help and support.

People make mistakes, people are lied to, people get tainted blood from transfusions, virgins in Africa are raped by men who were told that they would be cured that way, kids are born with it from mothers who didn't know they were infected by their cheating husbands, ad infinitum.

Your attitude is appalling.

Now I'm sure you're going to lambast me, but know in your heart that you are absolutely, unequivocally wrong, and this is one of those times that everyone's opinion is NOT equal.

If you could take every individual who is HIV+, and I mean EVERY one of them, and then freeze them, you could stop the spread of HIV. So long as they remain frozen the virus cannot infect anyone else. But that is the same as putting them in Jail or concentration camps. Yeah, that is a good idea. Then we can also lock up anyone who doesn't follow the orders of the NWO and the supreme leader Bush. While we are at it, lets seize everyone's property and make them work for the state for free. Hard labor is good for you and besides, who needs money when the overlords give you bread and water three times a day.

Currently we cannot freeze people and then bring them back. Simply lowering their body temps would not cure them. Once you become HIV+ it gets into your system and become part of you. It is not at all like curing Malaria and people popsicles don't taste so good.

Contrary to an earlier post, HIV is not always a lifestyle problem. Many have become infected in ways that have little to do with their life style choices. Cancer is often the result of lifestyle choices. Smoking is a great way to get cancer. Yumm. Cancer sticks.
