Divide ATS's UFO Section into "The Factual" and "The Fanciful" - Thoughts?

Would you like to see ATS's UFO section divided into 2 categories?

I think many would like to see the UFO section divided into two groups, maybe "The Facts" and the "No Proof".

The fanciful stories that cannot be verified should be off on their own. Now granted, how do I know that people are not REALLY being abducted every other night? But there are no facts to prove it, (why don't these people put up vid cams all over their house and yards). If you want to debate that, take it here: www.abovetopsecret.com...

But there really WAS something seen by many over O'Hare, that should be in "The Facts" section.

The problem is when new people come to this forum to look for real info from intelligent people on the UFO phenomenon, they are either brickwalled by people who are having half-grey children and prey to the reptilians for help, or they come with real info and are rudely debunked into the ground. Or they run into an arse on the board.

Because of the above, I also think that the fancifuls make up the majority, posting on ATS more often. The majority of intelligent people visiting ATS are either lurkers or post less often.

I know that the owners mean well for this forum and it is the best there is. I give credit to ATS for how much they DO moderate things here, and I know how tough it has to be to do that alone much less start separating these things. But IMO for ATS to move to the next level, it simply must be done.

I think the owners will take this seriously if the majority here want it, let's vote on it.

yep, maybe there should be two different forums, one mainly to do withour reality and the other hypothetical. would please people, especially those that complain, though i do not understand why people who complain just do not read the threads they do not want to read.
though all ufo/alien stuff is out there stuff, at the end of the day, this is one of the reasons why this board is so liked.

The biggest threads are on obvious unreal topics.

Looking for resolution of unknowns of any type may not be for

How many years and how many books have popular ideas sold on
TV and other media. Even real situations are never told.

Like how do rockets work, well that was covered fairly well except
for the math. Nuclear power was covered well except for the aspects
of isotopes.

The early launch failures pointed out the need for Gyros.
Yet the company in charge with the contract needed more money
to do the job right. With a new pension plan they all retired
by the time good gyros came out and the plans were given to
the government to find another company to build the gyros.

Yeah that story is little known.

Then there is the China launch problems that got solved.

Yeah full disclosure on a lot of things won't happen.

I agree with you, but there is no objective way to cut it. People who truly believe that their thoughts or perceptions are real will try to post in the fact section.

However, if there were to be an "UFO Analysis" forum, where only pictures, reports, and objective facts belong, and then a forum for everything else, that might provide the separation you're looking for, but part of me doesn't even see that working.

This is really a good idea. Something like a "smoking gun" section only. In here you have to give some type of proof or reference to make a post.
