It looks like I'm going to be needing something to help my impotence. I was wondering if anyone here has tried it or if there is a better cheaper alternative? I'm lucky to go once a week right now. I also have had a vasectomy, I have read that it will eventually lower testosterone, the doctors deny this. Mine is defineitely low. My cousin who has not had a vasectomy is one year older than me and can still go everyday.

Yes, if you have a houseplant that's not doing well and has gone limp and unattractive on you, Viagra ground up in its water works great! Voila perky plant!

(Same mechanism)

My father he is 62, had prostate surgery 2 years ago, and a side effect of this operation is impotence- well, about 6 months ago he got tired of doing without, went to the VA and got some viagra, and would'nt you know- he is smiling ear to ear.
He says it works for him- and I hope this helps or is a few words of encouragement.

While low testosterone would cause problems, having your tubes tied won't.

Remember that there is no consistant measure of sex drive. Some folks have a very high sex drive, others have a low one. It changes with age, but the change isn't consistant. One study showed that a number of people are having sex several times a week when they are 60+ years old (no viagra or other help.)

Check with your doctor, first. There's a number of web sites for men with this problem, and you could check those as well. I'd stay off the herbals; those are never formulated with pharmacological accuracy.

Does anyone know the potential dangers of using it recreationally? (Jokes aside please)

I have been considering picking some up from Mexico.

Well, I hope you get some really good, experience-based feedback on the Mexico connection. Because sometimes you really don't have a clue what you're getting down there.

Viagra works. Just as I said it will perk up your plants, it'll perk up your rod and staff....

but I haven't got a clue what you'd get in Mexico. Do some serious checking.

Having a vasectomy can possibly have something to do with testosterone levels, although it depends on which study you listen to. Myself, I think it may vary by individual. If you are worried about it, talk to your Dr. or ask for a second opinion as there are solutions if this proves to be the problem.
This is a good source of info:

Get facts, do some research on your own. The problem may be solved fairly simply and inexpensivly. Avoid heresay, as what happened to someone you know may not apply to your situation.
A friend went through this a while back and after it was all said and done, he found that the problem was cured without medication.
As for Viagra, that friend gave me a couple (expensive little suckers) because I was curious and they worked pretty well, maybe a little TOO well.

From what I have been told, Val is correct. It'll make your plants stand at attention.

Still in development. Unless of course you believe the ads that come in yahoo mailboxes.

As noted by Byrd, you probably want to avoid herbals.
If interested, check this out.

Personally never tried it but my bro-in-law had a friennd who took it once for recreational fun. The results were, worded carefully here, "Hours of Sexual Readyness regardess of the number of times he climaxed". He said within minutes of him "Finishing" and returning to a more "Relaxed State", there would be an automatic return to the "Ready State". The only side effect I'm aware of is Heart Failure from added stress and overworking your heart having to produce the increased blood flow. My personal advise for those with a weak heart would be to either try some alternative to Viagra or be mindfull about the number of times it's used. If you do intend on using it be careful not to overdue it all at once and occasionally let her be on top to cut down on your physical activity.

Your partners may not appreciate it.

Seriously.

It kind of takes the edge off the mood when you have to hop up and say "okay, wait about 30 minutes. I have to go take a pill." And it's no fun if you decide to not say anything and run off and take a pill and then your partner decides that sex is not in the cards for the night.

And it's a waste to spend $10/pill (or whatever it is) for a one-handed erotic experience.

And if your partner isn't as eager and excited as you are, being able to become aroused again after a few minutes is simply going to be a HUGE turnoff to them. Hours of sex when you're not turned on is just painful and boring.

They're actually looking into that.

One of the biggest (and most ignored) medical issues is women's lack of sexual satisfaction/low libido. Although the industry has hopped all over the idea of products for men, the larger (untapped) market of equally frustrated women has been pretty much ignored.

To date, there's a bit of research (not much) on testosterone and some on Viagra, but the studies haven't led to any solid conclusions (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't). I've seen estimates that say as high as 40% of women have this problem regularly (so all those enlargers won't make them any more eager...)

Well, I'm sure that you both could find something fun to do during those 30 wait time. There used to be this thing called foreplay that came before the actual sexual penetration and stuff. I guess some of us are just "Old School" in that way though.

When it does kick in however I don't think she'll be too upset over it. After a few hours she may be tired of it though, just depending on the type of woman.

Your point about taking it if you're not sure you're gonna get some is certainly a valid point though!! That would definately be a serious bummer for the next few hours!! Especially if your mate would consider it Nasty, Rude, Inconsiderate, or Weird for you to take matters into your own hands, literally. Cause you aren't going to be able to hide the effects casually.

The $10 isn't a big deal IMO. Cheaper than a movie for two and lasts about 3 or 4 times as long and with a much bigger payoff, Thrills and Chills, Action and Excitement, etc. And you don't even have to go anywhere....

Edit: "Don't" in I Don't think she'll....

I have found that usually if there is any question as to where or not you will be doing anything or not the answer is no. That must be womens favorite word. My dad is married to a twenty five year old and he's 68 and would probably step out in a minute. There is another guy who works with me that said his wife told him if he brought any viagra home she would want a divorce. He is 51 and appearantly still doing well. He says he has always been kind of manly. My Grandfather in-law could have been a another John Wayne went to the doctor when he was 83 to see why he suddenly became impotent. It turned out that he had a brain tumor He died shortly after they did a brain biopsy in the hospital. I certainly feel way behind behind the class, to say the least. Others I have talked to who have had a vasectomy have had no similar problems.

My problem might possibly be nerve damage. I broke my left femur in 98 jumping my dirt bike and I have had problems ever since. The doctor said he had a real tuff time driving that pin into my bone with a hammer. A trip to the chiropractor every now and then helps some, along with eating good. I just don't feel like that stallion in the pasture that goes hysterical over the mare in the next pasture any more. Maybe for some reason I have quit producing sufficient testosterone. I feel like a compass whos needle is stuck on south.
