My great grandmother was full blooded Shoshoni and has been the subject of some intresting conversations at family dinners. She was somewhat gifted in the sense that wild Animals would walk up to her and she could see strange things. My mother said she was a medicine man of sorts, had a 3rd eyes sort of thing.
Well its some generations later and a few of my family have been witness to some amazing if not scary things. Seeing shadows walk, other ghostly phenom, even strange encounters with animals.
So that being said, I would like to know if there are other native americans or people with some native american decent on this board. I would love to hear any stories here or a u2u. Do you belive that something like this can be passed down as a family trait or are just some of us lucky enough to experience it first hand?

I am suppose to have some Cherokee in me, and I think I probably do. If I do it is not very much as far as DNA does I guess. So basically I have no Indian blood in me. But my heart beats as if it did. That mind sound kind of lame but it is true.

I lobe animals, and the reason I am writing is because I found out what my spirit animal was a few years ago in the Wind River Mountains. Those are part of the Shoshone's land and I try to get up there at least once a year. I won't go into details in the matter of my spirit animal because it is very sacred to me. If you are interested U2U me and I would be glad to tell you.

My opinion is I think it definetly can be passed down from your ancestors. It sounds like you have some instances that are not very happy so to speak. I have never had something bad with animals, just spirits and of course people. I have very little experience with Indian beliefs but I have read quite a bit. One day I will change that, per me and my awesome wife are going to be moving to The Black Hills. I have a bond with the Soiux, in particular Crazy Horse. My wife has family up there and we go up as much as we can. It won't be long though and we will be there for good. That has nothing to do with your post, but I wanted to give some of my personality as to why I felt inspired to write to you.

Can you give any more details as to what the animals are doing? Is there some sort of evil medicine going around. I didn't know what the correct words are for evil Medicine Men, sorry. If you don't know who your spirit animal is maybe you could try and find out and they would be able to help you. Are there any other Medicine Men or Elders that can give you guidance? Can your grandmother help you and protect your family?

Hope this helped in some way. Nive talking to you. experience

I have 1/8 cherokee in me, according to family records. And until I read your post, I had no idea my "way" with animals might be related.

I've had many experiences where animals, both feral and actual "wild" animals will approach and/or let me approach them. This is good, as I am a wildlife photographer. It's odd, and people remark on it, and I've never thought much about it...but perhaps there's something there. And the two times I was "attacked" it wasn't "bad" or problematic; just the animal wanting to see what I was. And this happens in the water, too...mammals, though, not fish. And it doesn't happen all the times; many times I've been hiking and not been approached...but I always see animals.

IMHO, and in general, Native Americans were closer to the heartbeat of the Earth, more in "tune" with the natural environment. Is this genetic or culturally based? I don't know, but it is interesting to note the differences between them and others.

Regards-
Aimless

corvuscorax18, I don't think I have anything negitive on me. Bad medicine man or curse. To be honest I dont' really know how to explain the things I've felt and seen. The most I can really say is Yes, I've seen shadow people. Yes I've seen ghosts and felt energy that was paranormal. I've had deer and "WILD" horses walk right up and just stare at me. I've even had a couple, and I mean a couple of instances of deja-vu.
So that being said, I am just trying to put a face on this. Its not a talent I can just use, Its something I don't understand and I hope people like yourself on here can steer me in the right direction
. This all might have to do with my bloodline or just be several freak occurences over the course of my life.
I just want to say for the record though. I'm not gifted like that. I cant talk to dead people or tell the future, and I will never claim to be a master of such things. I'm just your average everyday guy who works his butt off for a living and thinks he may have an idea for these things that happen to us
Peace out. Oh and I have no idea what my spirit Animal is...how do you go about finding that information out?
