I lobe animals, and the reason I am writing is because I found out what my spirit animal was a few years ago in the Wind River Mountains. Those are part of the Shoshone's land and I try to get up there at least once a year. I won't go into details in the matter of my spirit animal because it is very sacred to me. If you are interested U2U me and I would be glad to tell you.
My opinion is I think it definetly can be passed down from your ancestors. It sounds like you have some instances that are not very happy so to speak. I have never had something bad with animals, just spirits and of course people. I have very little experience with Indian beliefs but I have read quite a bit. One day I will change that, per me and my awesome wife are going to be moving to The Black Hills. I have a bond with the Soiux, in particular Crazy Horse. My wife has family up there and we go up as much as we can. It won't be long though and we will be there for good. That has nothing to do with your post, but I wanted to give some of my personality as to why I felt inspired to write to you.
Can you give any more details as to what the animals are doing? Is there some sort of evil medicine going around. I didn't know what the correct words are for evil Medicine Men, sorry. If you don't know who your spirit animal is maybe you could try and find out and they would be able to help you. Are there any other Medicine Men or Elders that can give you guidance? Can your grandmother help you and protect your family?
Hope this helped in some way. Nive talking to you. experience
